Forums - Nintendo - Anyone else pissed their Gamecube collection is obsolete from Wii-Makes?

fine whatever...these games have updated controls. i still don't understand why anyone would be pissed.

don't want to rebuy a game? then don't.

want metroid prime with updated controls (like millions of N-fanboys have be clamouring for)? put your money where your mouth is.

Ugh in Japan its $36 for the Pikmin remake. Geez that a lot haha. Better be $30 when it comes here and even that's too much for me right now haha.

It was a matter of time before this happened. I was hoping for collections, like Pikmin 1&2, Metroid 1&2, etc.

I will get them, since I'm missing some. Hoping for a 20$ price tag :)

Bets with Conegamer:

Pandora's Tower will have an opening week of less than 37k in Japan. (Won!)
Pandora's Tower will sell less than 100k lifetime in Japan.
Stakes: 1 week of avatar control for each one.

It will most likely be $30. That might because of the value of the dollar....

nope. I already played the big gc games I wanted to play.

However, there are gc games I would like to play at the right price and since I already sold my wavebirds it would be nice if they were on wii discs with wii controls.

I might try out pikmin and zelda:ww (the only zelda game I have never played) among a few others.

Hell, I may replay MP1/2 if it does have new controls similar to MP3.

Considering that Pikmin 2 sells for $35 used in the US (and I rue the fact I traded in my new copy I bought for $4) -- these would be welcomed.

Is there any info if this is even going anywhere but Japan, by the way? After all, the GC did not sell well there last generation.

I like to jump around, and would lead a fairly serene and aimless existence if it weren't for my friends always getting into trouble. I love to help out, even when it puts me at risk. I seem to make friends with people who just can't stay out of trouble.

I hope it goes here....

Also, does anyone think that Pikmin with the Wii-mote is being realesed as one of the first Wii Makes to test Controll Schemes for Pikmin 3?

Yes, they have been confirmed for NA and Europe.

I have yet to see Pkmin 2 for under £24.... I saw Pikmin 1 for £6 in CEX... but I only had a £10 and bought Eternal Darkness for £5 instead.

ya, i thought they were going to have new controls

Why would you even assume that?  There's no good reason to assume that unless they specifically mention that because that means they would have to go back on each individual titles and rework all the controls.  That would take a lot of money and it just wouldn't be worth it.

Until they say the controls are going to be reworked, I would just not get my panties in a bunch and assume they aren't.

If you look up a few posts, IGN is quoted as saying new controls. I don't know if they translated it right, but you can see why people (including myself) would think that there are new controls.

I don't know, IGN is the ONLY place reporting that as far as I can see.  Making new controls just doesn't make sense because that would be a lot of time and money devoted to something that wouldn't be that big of a return.

From Wired liveblog of NA conference:

Apparently they're actually upgrading these GameCube games with Wii controls, and it includes the Metroid Prime games, so if those reports are correct, we'll have Wiimote-enabled versions of those games... interesting.

And Metroid Prime shoots up into my top 5 game franchises ever.
