one week of good sales MAKES U WONDER

i don't no whats official 4 bundles but there r some confirmed 4 EU and US is getting 499 160gb w uncharted i don't think sony will drop the price this year
i'll tell u how i would react if i was in charge i would scrap the 160gb ps3 since it's the same as the 80 as far as functions u don't want something on the shelve with a 499 tag next to xbox's 199,299,399 tags and wii's 250 tag. i would sell the 160 hd separate though
next i would bundle the 80gb with motorstorm2 or LBP and a bluray movie for 399 to showcase the ps3's gamming and entertaiment abilities
finally i would get the b/c back

Sony doesnt need to react, and shouldnt. As has been stated a countless other times, cutting the price could really hurt Sony financially. Sony is doing fine and will have great numbers this holiday.
Will it beat out the 360, this holiday....NO!
Well the 360 recently had 2 major pricecuts... it would take a miracle for Sony to manage to stay ahead every week...
IMO they dont need to do nothing at this point. The gamelineup for the holiday season is pretty damn strong, and tough a 300$ pricetag would have helped a lot, I can still see the PS3 edging out the 360 this holiday season ;)
Vote the Mayor for Mayor!
I think Sony are slightly worried about the competition, and they should be by all means. But I think they are going to put a lot of emphasis on their line-up, and all the new games being shown at TGS is hopefully something the public is desiring.
Well, I´d say price cut, but that´s just because I want a cheaper PS3 :D

Good grief, people, get a life..
Sony is a multinational industry giant that sees world economy and financial systems floundering day by day. Of course Sony is worried (small hint: Sony also has a financial division). Yes, they also sell PS3 consoles, and nobody at Sony gives a s**t whether MS sells a few more Xboxes than they sell PS3s at the moment.
It is good to see competition in the video game market. The PS2 monopoly of last generation has been broken with Wii and X360 both doing well this generation in competition with PS3. Wii is the PS2 of this generation.
PS3 will have to wait until March 2009 for the next price cut at the earliest. PS3 will have to rely heavily on its brand name and new games launched over the next few months to keep in touch with its main competition the Wii and PS3 is expected to edge out the X360 in sales over the holiday period in Europe.
PS3 and X360 are expected to finish neck a neck over the holiday sales period. PS3 in 2009 with a price cut + more exclusive games is expected to heavily outsell X360 and narrow weekly sales gap on Wii.
Sony dont need to react and wont anyway because they cannot afford to.
2008 and 2009 should be the best sales years for the 360 where as 2009 and 2010 are likely to be the best years for the PS3.
The 360 is currently a great value product with a great games library. The PS3 will be able to take up this mantle in 2009 when its games library is bolstered by its remaining 2008 releases and then its price reduced.
It has been mentioned that the recent credit crunch could penalise the PS3. This is actually quite a strong possibility but on current trends its probably the Wii that will see most of this benefit anyhow.
On a side note the current boost of 360 sales means there is still a chance that it will surpass original Xbox sales by the end of the year!
At the time the 80GB arrived in Europe the PS3 did 87k vs the 360 with 48k, and the PS2 with 47k.
Sony shouldn't worry too much for Europe... it'll settle in the next two weeks.
