I recently (5 minutes ago) discovered that I can log into XBL because my MTU settings on my router are too low, what the hell does that mean and does anyone know how to fix it? It was working fine yesterday.

The MTU is the maximum size of a packet of data that can be sent over your connection.

MTU = Maximum transmission unit
However no one can log into xbox live today. I still can't, they took it down for 24 hours for "exciting new features".

It did the same thing to me when I test the connection, it didn't did it before when live was up yesterday, so I'm just guessing that if the connection is down maybe it throw off your mtu.

Yeah its, just live being down thats causing the problem with MTU. Wait till tomorrow.
I own all three current consoles and a great gaming rig, now thats out of the way.
