I agree that the Wii version will probably outsell the PS3 version....don't agree with the second part though. Just because Star Wars has a big FANBASE doesn't mean it's "mainstream".....and you said "look at the Wii userbase"
I bet if you asked a random Wii owner on the street the intricacies of the Star Wars universe, they'd give you a blank stare and then say something about Darth Vader, R2D2, and Luke Skywalker, and that'd be it

Try checking the charts to see how staggeringly familiar Madden 09 looks compared to Madden 08

The two graphs look very familiar no?... Madden 08 Wii in the end didn't quite catch up to PS3, (although current sales indicate they will end quite close together)
Also note Madden 09 for PS3 also has PAL sales tracked unlike the other 3 games.

I actually completely agree with this. I've said this before in another thread:
The Wii is going to be the only console to win NOT because of it's software. But I guess they went the right direction this gen. Sony and M$ have said "you can have all the hardware you want, but it means nothing without software" or something of that nature. Ninty just took that train of thought and wrecked it....but it that good for gamers?

I agree, it will def be the first NA console winner, not to be the lead madden platform, its almost like it has its own ecosystem... the apple of gaming, our stuff sales your crap dosent... even make money the same way, off hardware

What? If not for its software, what do people buy the Wii for?
Like it or not, people are buying software for the Wii. Wii Sports, Wii Fit, Wii Music, etc. are software. The Wii sells because of its games.
If there's one console that isn't selling due to its software (in terms of games, at least), it's the PSP.
