You can play Battlefield 2 or Battlefield 2142 with 128 players online for free. Granted, 2142 has annoying in game ads, but it's still free of a monthly charge.

The reality is that the PSN is a service and Sony must find a way to recoup the cost of the service. Whether it be yearly fees or through games.

Why would Sony fanboys care about XBL?  XBL competes with PSN, not with some MMO, last I checked.  Also, last I checked, there wasn't a MMO even available on XBL, so of course there's umm.. no extra fee for it?  The nonexistant XBL MMO I mean.

OT: Was Huxley, for the 360, cancelled?  That's the only other remotely similar game (for XBL anyway) I can even think of.  Weren't they also going to charge an extra fee?

and only DLC thats its a huge download pack and not something that was already in my HDD to unlock + worth it.

many other MMOs charge fees.

This game is basically an MMO. MMO = fees. Fees = server costs. Server costs = better servers and support. Better servers and support = happier players.

Why doesn't anyone here understand something this simple?

I dunno, back when I was first exposed to MMO's (Lineage) back when I was 13 I couldn't quite grasp that concept either.
