Forums - Nintendo - How Nintendo Could Counter LBP

tabsina said:
When local gaming stores are advertising the game by saying "free kratos ingame character with every preorder" you know it isn't set to touch the casual market

as such, and even if it did, nintendo don't really need to counter it.. its not going to affect anything

lol - good point. xD

They dont have to do anything, the wii will sale tons of systems, no matter how many great games the other consoles have.

End of 2011 (made 02/01/11)
Wii: 99.453 m
Xbox 360: 67.837 m
Ps 3: 60.726 m

Best Games/Serie of the Generation

I'd add LBP to the list of reasons of why i would like to own a PS3 (currently not in my budget), but i don't really think Nintendo needs to counter it.

For as long as the Wii remains sold out Nintendo need not counter anything the opposition does, at least from a profit point of view.

Nintendo will be just fine with what they have coming out this year!

Generation 8 Predictions so far.....(as of 9/2013)

Console that will sell most: Nintendo Wii U

Who will sell more consoles between Microsoft/SONY: SONY

I'll just echo what most posters have already said in this thread: If Halo 3, Metal Gear Solid 4, Grand Theft Auto 4 and a crapload of other "AAA" games weren't enough to even slow the Wii down (let alone stop it), I don't really see a reason why Nintendo should counter something like LittleBigPlanet. And I agree with the sentiment that LBP is more designed to combat X360 than the Wii, since neither of the powerhouse systems has much to offer to the non-serious gamer.

Even so, I find it kinda amusing that LBP is considered a game with a ton of casual appeal (are the Sackboys and "kiddie" level objects enough?), even though the game will either live or die by its "hardcore" userbase because of the games reliance on its level editor and custom content.

I agree that LBP is on the false plattform. Create levels with a gamepad? that's ridiculous!

But I think LBP is not a big deal either. A decent Jump&Run but nothing more.

We'll just have to wait for October 2nd to come around.

What does this mean?

It means we should wait and see what Nintendo shows at the conference in October.

Maybe they'll have a "LBP killer"?

@ z101 )

yea, just like Monster Hunter 3, The Conduit and Madworld sadly release to the false plattform, such a shame /sarcasm

"marginalizing, wii can do it too"

Right now Nintendo is untouchable by almost any game :S
