Forums - Nintendo - How Nintendo Could Counter LBP

They already have.

Excite Bike for the NES had a great level editor. They just need to put those levels online.

Also it's funny watching console players being so happy to edit levels, something PC users have been doing since forever.

I know there are level editors, but an authorized Mario level editor is a completely different thing. (Or am I the only one who used to fill notebooks with hand-drawn Mario level creations?)

I believe the closest title to "counter" in the near future would be Animal Crossing. Although, considering that the only game i can think of, that Nintendo has seen worth of countering, is GTA4, which is a sequel to biggest franchise last gen, i really doubt that LBP is something Nintendo needs to counter, although, i see LBP being one of the top selling games on PS3, after it stopped selling.

Ei Kiinasti.

Eikä Japanisti.

Vaan pannaan jalalla koreasti.

Nintendo games sell only on Nintendo system.

We'll just have to wait for October 2nd to come around.

I'd sooner take an F-Zero game with a level editor.

That would be mighty great.

There are a lot and I mean a lot of Super Mario Bros 3 and Super Mario World roms out there with user-created levels. Most of them are garbage. That's one the thing I fear from Little Big Planet. However, the whole system behind the game might help filter the good for the bad.

How many cups of darkness have I drank over the years? Even I don't know...

Why hasn't anyone mentioned Blastworks?

Look at all the content that's been made, all for your Wii:

http://blastworksdepot.com/games/blastworks/type/enemy

And you can't even mention it during a thread about level design :(

PC + Wii owners unite.  Our last-gen dying platforms have access to nearly every 90+ rated game this gen.  Building a PC that visually outperforms PS360 is cheap and easy.    Oct 7th 2010 predictions (made Dec 17th '08)

What does this mean?

Nintendo doesn't need to counter, and I am curious to see how Wii Music will do.

How a game without a goal do at $50 a pop.

I already thought o fthis 2 dyas after I heard about LBP. I also don't need it; I actually just spent the last 4 hours making levels in Lunar Magic lol. (My levels are high quality. I have been working since June- very very llightly, and I am on my 4th level.)

When local gaming stores are advertising the game by saying "free kratos ingame character with every preorder" you know it isn't set to touch the casual market

as such, and even if it did, nintendo don't really need to counter it.. its not going to affect anything
