Exactly why how good a game is is trully all based on "opinion".

For what?
I thought that was the general consensus, and the reason behind why KZ1 was buggy and glitchy. It makes sense seeing as how Kantor says "You cant make vast improvements going from #1 to #2" and yet, evidently that they were able to do it in the PSP version

Wierd time to be making this thread, I haven't seen a Killzone 2 thread in like a month.
Why the hype?
The graphics are better than anything we've seen this gen from consoles, and yes graphics do matter - IF you don't believe go see CoD4 and gears of war 1.
Another meaningless and pointless thread.
Okay, here goes...
Killzone Liberation was technically not a sequel, it was a portable game. A supplement, I suppose. It's like Size Matters to Ratchet and Clank or Portable Ops to MGS. I'm not saying KZ2 can't be a good game, I'm just wondering why so many people are saying it will be Game of the year, best game on ps3, best graphics of any game that will be made this gen (seriously?)
Of course this happens with every PS3 game, sadly. Remember when people were saying Haze would be a Halo killer?
(Before I get 100 angry posts about comparing KZ2 to Haze, I am not. I'm just saying that a game that looks like it could be amazing might not be (The Force Unleashed for example))
But at the moment, it seems to be Killzone 2 above all else, followed by Resistance 2, followed by LBP.
Also, good graphics do not make a good game (Lair- that dragon was impossible to control...). But they are certainly important. COD4 and Gears of War were so good because they had incredible graphics and great gameplay.
There are different expectations for PSP and PS3 games. The PSP is infinitely more limiting than the PS2, so hopefully they can adjust well and can adjust over the gap from PS2 to PS3 as well as PS2 to PSP. Only time will tell.
And yes, Red Alert was better than Red Alert 2. Just in my opinion. Hopefully Red Alert 3 will be even better. And it'll be on consoles (which sadly is unlikely to work)
@ Kantor )
post #2 in this thread said everything
I'm not as overly enthusiastic as the "GOTY" or "best graphics this gen"-sayers and actually I'm not with them either (to me the art-style isn't appealing, which is why it won't be MY "best looking game", although the graphics technology is very refined -- and a console shooter will never be GOTY material to me personnally), but you can't simply dismiss KZ2 because of it's precedessor, for the reasons Kyros mentioned.
@ FinalEvangelion )
I'm definately with you there - and I hope there will be an asian version of FF XIII with english subtitles way before the US/EU release *prays*, for I can't read japanese (I do understand spoken japanese quite well).
R2 and KZ2 while good looking most certainly won't make it into my games collection until maybe they are available at a budget price.
@ Onimusha12 under me)
too bad everyone knows you are a Ninty-fan, so no one will take you seriously
It's hyped because Killzone 1 is perhaps the best FPS to date, that's why. It was a Halo killer and that it did.
