Sure the graphics look good but it is rare that a game improves hugely from number one to number two. MGS improved slightly (hard to improve on MGS1) but often number two is worse than number one (Red Alert, Devil May Cry, Soul Calibur)

So why all of the hype? Resistance was an 8.6 and 9.1, and a solid formula for a game. R2 is looking to improve on all of these. Why are so many people saying KZ2 is going to 'blow away all competition' and be a 'Halo-killer'?

Why is Killzone2 hyped?

Because its a blockbuster game with a huge budget.
Because its one of the best looking games to come.
Because some of the best SONY studios like Insomniac, London Studios etc. were helping with the development.
Because levels have already been played and the feedback about gameplay was very good.
Because the multiplayer looks awesome.

Yes Killzone1 sucked. We know. EVERYONE HERE KNOWS THAT. Now please make the next topic.

Killzone 2 is a big Flop.

I won't jump into this topic telling you all how Killzone 2 isn't the Halo-killer everyone wants it to be. It'll probably be a good game but nothing mind-blowing or even GOTY worth (yep I said it, 09 will have MUCH better games then KZ2).

Still, I'm getting a little tired of these threads.

NOTE TO EVERYONE: The only hype coming from this game is from diehard sony fans that do it for every game, everyone else is thinking about R2 and LBP right now from Sony.

I agree. Regardless of who worked on the game or how long it took or how much money is in it, I still don't expect much of anything from this game. Everyone says it will be way better than R2 too, and I strongly disagree.

The gameplay doesn't even look that great. It looks OK, but I've seen nothing that makes me excited for this game to come out. I highly doubt it'll be GOTY '09. But, what do I know?

O.o all the "halo-killer" hype came from the media...atleast thats what i understood. i never once considered kz1 (nor am i considering kz2) a "halo-killer" i am considering kz2 though to be way better than kz1 giving it on average 85/100
