Forums - Sales - Japan Numbers Upzorz!

wow - the 360 sold much worse than I expected...(i was thinking along the lines of 25k+ units, now they move 13000 less units than last week? WTF?)
and yet the PS3 sold 100 or so more units than last week without a pricecut?
Those loveable Japanese, they're so weird!

and again it seems Nintendo FTW!

I think the price cut was last week. It moved 28k units(up from the usual 3k). This was the second week, I think. If you expected 25 plus units, moved, you expected no drop during the second week of the price cut. The 360 was actually still way above how much it usually sells.

I think either you or I have a misconception about when the price cut was. I thought this was the second week that it was in effect, and(I think) you think it's the first.

I don't need your console war.

You're power hungry, spinnin' stories, and bein' graphics whores.

yeah i think you're right. but didn't the first week (of the Japan price cut) only reflect the first two days of the price cut? thats why i thought this weeks numbers would be higher for the 360

I find it confusing to keep track of each regions price cuts - why didn't they just cut all regions at once? stock constraints i suppose, but by all accounts they've sold out in Japan anyway...

I dunno for sure man. I bet most of the sales were on the first day, so that would explain it, if the 2 day thing were true.

Either way, legs were pretty good on the price cut actually, considering this was week 2, and you have to figure that the drop was gonna be big. The real marker for me was the 360 beat the PS3 2 weeks in a row, which is just wild, too me. I never saw that coming. I figured like the Vesperia or MGS bumps, we'd get 30k week 1, 3k week 2, lol.

why do you say that?

Are Sony going to disable games in an upcoming firmware version that I haven't heard of yet?

Do I see this right? 360>Wii? Or was that last week. Either way, 360 is doing very well. 360>PS3, but probably only for one week after this. But 360 should be able to sell 50% as much as PS3 in Japan for the rest of the year.

Last week 360>Wii only on vgchartz and Famitsu. The official sales (media create) sees Wii>360 last week.

Seems the price-cut has no real effect. Only some sales to people who waited to buy the 360 when they heard from the price-cut, therefore short before the price-cut the xbox sales was lower than ever.

People here seem uninformed. Week before the price cut 360 was all but sold out. This weeks numbers also have reports and pics that the 360 again sold out in many places in Japan. I think if it was stocked well we would have had over 20,000 again on this weeks numbers. Why are people ignoring this on a sales website?

Very disappointed in the PS3....the numbers are awful every week now in Japan. Sony might as well give up unless they put some effort in over there

I hope my 360 doesn't RRoD
