Are you serious? The 360 outsells the PS3 for 2 weeks and that's your assessment? In the time they've been in direct competition with one another in Japan the PS3 has done nothing BUT outsell the 360, by a tune of around 5 to 1.Even with the year headstart factored in, the PS3 crushes the 360. You do realize all the number are prominently displayed at the top of VG Charts home page right?

360 should be outselling PS3 at this point in Japan...period! THAT'S the point...how many weeks did original xbox outsell PS2?  Infact...360 wasn't even supposed to compete with PS3...it was suppose to be a landslide victory for PS3...coming off the domination of PS2...to put it in some perspective that some "might" get...it's like the Gaints beating the Pats...WTF...it wasn't even suppose to be a game, much less a competitive game, much less the Gaints winning!  Sony threw EVERYTHING, INLCUDING the kitchen sink, into the PS3...the results...millions of console behind, and not getting much closer...ouch!  BTW...the 360 is PROMINENTLY in second place on the top of VG Chartz...just to point out THAT little fact.

I've still got the bruises caused by the power of TEH CELLZ!

Could I trouble you for some maple syrup to go with the plate of roffles you just served up?

I'm pretty surprised at the 360's hold. If it can stabilize around 10k there is a chance of some momentum. MS need to be thinking about the next Xbox at this point. If they can build some loyalty and get people on board they could blossom next gen. However if they go back to previous levels again I would hope they would drop the region next time.

wow - the 360 sold much worse than I expected...(i was thinking along the lines of 25k+ units, now they move 13000 less units than last week? WTF?)
and yet the PS3 sold 100 or so more units than last week without a pricecut?
Those loveable Japanese, they're so weird!

and again it seems Nintendo FTW!

If by 1000 units you mean 100, then yes, 1000.

O.o

Sony should be very worried about Japan numbers. They had some new game releases and the sales havent changed. I am starting to think Sony will never catch 360 WW this gen. Hmmmm.... Why do Japan not want the PS3 at the moment?

well, no fewer people than wanted one last week it seems.

Anyway, i feel a pricecut would do wonders for Sony's numbers, but with the amount of money they lose on each console and the constant flow of (reasonable) sales i don't think Sony would do that...

I'm sorry if i'm not making much sense today, i've got a terrible case of self-inflicted hangover

Something else I forgot to add was that 360 could have been even better this week. We all seem to have forgotten that there is also reports and pictures from the week of these sales numbers that the 360 sold out in many places in Japan. I actually think if the 360 was stocked well in Japan that it would have done over 20,000 again. M$ need to make some big announcements at TGS and improve stock to Japan, if they do this they could find themselves regularly outselling the PS3 by some way. If they dont pounce now while the Japanese are interested then that would be shooting themselves in the foot. They have got TLR coming in a month or so and then in February they have Star Ocean 4. More announcemets of Japanese games at TGS would certainly do 360 well in Japan. Could it be the next american product other than Mcdonalds to really take off in Japan?
