Forums - Nintendo - I hope Megaman 9 does extremely well

I may or may not get it myself but I want the game to sell a lot. My hope is that if it does, other publishers will see it and think about ideas of bringing back some old games with new sequels. Who wouldn't want to see a new SMB game in the classic NES style? There are quite a few NES games that I'd love to see 8 bit sequels to.

 

So if Megaman 9 sells a lot, do you think WiiWare could see some more of these classic games getting new sequels made?



I'll come up with something better eventually...

I hope so...i've been waiting for a new Super Metroid 2-D since forever...i so want a game like that....hopefully they will realize that old gamers are waiting for things like this new mega man, which i will be getting lately this week.

Hmm. You want more of these kinds of game but youre not sure if you want to support this game? Wow.......

Anyways Im not a retro fan. If I didnt play an 8-bit/16-bit game already I most likely wont like it now.
Its 2008 people should embrace the new hardware and tech offered to them and try to make something fresh.

I for one think SNES was the pinnacle of 2D gaming and that retro games (if there should be more than Megaman 9) should emulate SNES graphics rather than NES.

Final Fantasy 14 like Final Fantasy 6? Donkey Kong Country 4? Super Mario RPG 2? Crono Triger sequel? Yes please.

No offense, but I really really hate that point of view. Should no new movies ever be made in black and white because we have color? Should all movies be required to have CG? Should all pianos be replaced with synthesizers?

I haven't ruled it out. I just was being honest about this specific game. I never really played the Megaman series much so I'm not going to pretend that I think this game is the best thing since sliced bread. For many people it is and I'm in no way knocking the game or the series. What I was getting at is that I would like to see more of this on the VC. I don't think that should mean I should have to buy a game I'm not neccessarily interested in.

I love Nintendo but I wasn't about to buy a Virtual Boy just to support Nintendo. I'd love to see more fighting games on the Wii but it doesn't mean I'm going to buy one that I'm not interested in. See what I'm saying?

Currently dreaming of: DKC4 or Sonic the Hedgehog 4 (classic 2D platformers) for WiiWare, Smash Bros. for DSi, New Super Mario World for DSi, a Wii remake or true sequel of Final Fantasy Tactics.

One down, hopefully more awesomeness to come.
