This thread is ridiculous, way to pull the fanboys out of the woodwork.

On topic: If you can get more than $250 for your wii then you should sell it. Otherwise as others said this console has at least three years left in it and a game you like has a pretty good chance of coming out, maybe even two or more.

LOLOL at thread. Major whining..hehehe Sell it, yes... lol And buy the PS3 with all their games.

I own both (actually, the three of them) and I can tell you that you're making the biggest error possible. Or maybe not... if you don't want to pay much for games, PS3 is the best choice.

I was in the same boat as the OP a while ago. I play my 360 and PS3 almost everyday and my Wii barely gets touched except for the occasional VC game. I however chose to keep my Wii as I had nothing to gain by selling it as I already owned all 3 current gen consoles.

You seem to be very unhappy with your Wii and if that is so, then by all means go ahead and sell it and pick up a PS3.

Do not listen to those saying your making a mistake or that if you don't like a specific game that you have issues, forget about them. You like what you like and no mentioned game lists are going to change that. 30M+ may like the Wii, but this does not speak for everyone as some may seem to believe.

I can take that same Wii list and give my opinions on the games, some may even think I am being too difficult too, but I do not care. Do I think MP3 is great? No. Do I think SMG is the second coming? I had more fun with SM64. Am I hyped for the Conduit? Give me Unreal Tournament. Smash is fun, but there are things in Brawl I do not care for. Smash hasn't been the same for me since the Gamecube version, I will forever be loyal to the N64 original. Everyone is different and people here need to respect that.

Do what you feel is best for you. If MGS, Devil May Cry, Street Fighter, Ratchet and Clank, etc... are your thing, then you will without a doubt find them on the PS3 and not the system you currently own. That is just fact and I see nothing as of right now to prove otherwise. As for the situation with the 22" monitor, as I said before, do not listen to those saying PS3 won't look good. If that was the case, why do people play HD gaming on PCs? It shouldn't look good right?

You seem determined to do this, so go ahead. PM me if you need any info, I will be glad to help you out.

I never recommend selling a console because you're only going to regret it later.

Here are some games you might like to try:

  • Metroid Prime 3: Corruption - I hate the MP and MP2 but I loved this game.  The controls were just fantastic and it's probably the best controlled FPS on a console.
  • Zack & Wiki - My favorite game on the Wii.  The puzzles are just awesome and you'll just love this game.
  • No More Heroes - If you're looking for something different, this is it.
  • Boom Blox - If you think Little Big Planet might be a game for you, give this game a go.  It really is a pretty awesome game.
  • Samba de Amigo - It's should be out this week and it's really a fun game in the same way Guitar Hero is fun.
  • Guitar Hero III - Speaking of Guitar Hero, give this game a go.  If you haven't been burned out on the first two you might just like this one.
  • Resident Evil 4 - One of the best games ever only got better with Wii controls
  • Okami - While the Wii controls don't do a lot for the game, it's still an amazing game especially if you like Zelda games.
  • Excite Truck - Fun quick game to this day I can still play and have a ball with 10-15 minutes at a time when I need a quick pick-me-up.
  • Rayman Raving Rabbids - Don't get both of them, just one is all you need.  The humor in this game is amazing and even better if you have friends to play with.

Also, I don't know where your friends are getting their info but Little Big Planet is nothing like Super Mario World.  The only thing they have in common is that they are both platformers.

Listen to this man.

From readin what the OP already mentioned in this thread he wouldn't care for Metroid Prime, why would he keep it for RE4 when an 80GB gets him RE4 and RE5, never played Excite Truck, but if he wants racing he has plenty to choose from on PS3 as well, 80GB also gets him Okami so scratch that from the list, he did not mention anything on Puzzlers or Music games so I can't comment on those.

Then he wants Ratchet and Clank, Uncharted, Metal Gear Solid (also mentioned it was one of his favorites on the Gamecube), Little Big Planet, and not saying he wants it but Guitar Hero III is PS3 also and has DLC so that isn't a good choice for a list either, plus many others if you read all his posts. Couple that with the fact that he has a few of those games available with BC on an 80GB and that list doesn't look quite as good.

I'm not being biased here, I am just going by what the OP prefers, not what users here prefer, and this is how we should respond.

Alright guys I have a Playstation 3 in the house with Uncharted because my friend lent it to me for the week. I'll post my impressions in a brand new thread if you want to read them.
