I have studied finance, and if Obama's economic propostions were put into place now it would be a disaster. I do like McCain's blaming of the greed and corruption better than Obama's pointing fingers at the GOP.... Hell, the Gop has not even been in power the last 2 years...

My not so limited understanding of the economy says me that McCain didn´t have a clue this week. There´s no need for me to repeat that here, since it´s easily found anywhere. Indeed, both sides can't do very much to control this situation, but from someone who says he has a "not so limited understanding of the economy" I would at least have expected:
a) That the deregulation of the last 10 years or so, which is definitely a Republican economic view, is a main reason for the enormous panic on Wall Street (Europe for example has much tighter regulation and much less problems atm).
b) McCain is actually blaming Obama! That's ridiculous beyond end, and much more ridiculous than blaming the GOP, cause that has at least some truth in it. Corruption is nonsense, greed yes, but corruption? Totally deregulating Wall Street is like letting kids free in a big Toys R Us without any oversight and expect them to do their homework.

Corruption did occur a bit. Alot of it was the small time deals though, the ones that knowenly sold mortgages to people who could not afford it, collected the payments, then when they defaulted put it on the market again, rinse, repeat. Alot of this did happen.
Edit: and Bigjon, you say you know about finance, then you know for sure this took much longer for 2 years to get set up and occur. Don't forget 6 of the last 8 were Republican congress and pres. So to try and say its just the dems fault is clearly false. And obama's ideas are not that bad, some of them are not great i agree, but the same of McCain. When you choose a pres, you choose a package, you can't just pick the good or the bad. Its who is better overall. Though with the current bailout, I believe many of the issues on his plan may have to be put on hold. Same with McCain if he was elected.
