Well, I am technicallya professional gamer, but that's probably a bit of a stretch. I've been sponsored, and I've made... oh, 2,000-3,000 dollars, maybe, in my "career" playing games. It's really not much, it just sounds cool to say: "I'm a professional gamer!" I had a few moments in the sun, especially with Team Fortress (which is why I'm so pumped for TF2).
I'm certainly very good, and I can trounce almost everyone who doesn't play FPS professionally, but I don't want to pretend I'm in the upper stratosphere, either. I'm a low end professional gamer, if you will, and may not play many tournaments in the future, unless Team Fortress 2 really, really captures my interest.
I largely agree with your definition, SSJ: I just didn't want to make myself seem cooler than I actually am. That is, if gamers can actually be cool :p
