There have been many games, brilliant in every other aspect , but falling short on one front(where it shouldnt, probably). So lets discuss these silver clouds with a lining of bird-poo

Ill go first with the very obvious Symphony Of The Night. Its a brilliant game, one of the best for the PS( and thats quite an achievement),one fo the best examples of good level design, we all know that. But given the otherwise high production quality of the game, what happened to the english voice acting? its really hard to believe that it was the work of professional voice actors. The classic "What is a man but a miserable pile of lies?" stays with us for eternity.

I liked the Voice Acting. "Dark Metamorphisis" is a classic line in videogaming. The PSP version had the VA redone. That's one of the best games of all time you're criticizing there pal.

I dissaprove of nitpicking.

I think its ok Zen...he does say its a brilliant game so...

About SotN, if the games story was a part of its appeal I'd understand why this may be something that could bother the gamer. But taht game is 100% pure gameplay, so the cutscenes are just there for me to go get a soda.

If sotry driven game like MGS4 had cheesy dialoge like that (actually it has plenty with Otacon crying over spilled milk) then I'd agree its a dent in the armour of a classic title.

The Witcher, brilliant RPG's had everything needed, yet few technical issues, loading times, crashes hold it back.

Also translation could be a bit better.

Mario Kart Wii is a classic,

except for the battle mode.

Remember previous Mario Kart games? How you'd actually play the battle mode? and enjoy it? I still can't for the life of me figure out what they were thinking with the battle mode in this game.

I'm a mod, come to me if there's mod'n to do.

Chrizum is the best thing to happen to the internet, Period.

Serves me right for challenging his sales predictions!

Bet with dsisister44: Red Steel 2 will sell 1 million within it's first 365 days of sales.

Super Metroid is a brilliant game that stands the test of time.

But there's one thing that I just can't understand...

The sand in Maridia is an absolute pain. The key to getting out is still a secret to me, as I mash buttons frantically to get out. The frustration adds as I'm being shot at at all sides. When I finally do escape there's a strong chance that a baby draygon will hit me back in. >_

@ZenfoldorVGI
SOTN is one of my favorite games,and this really wasnt a criticism
When youre playing a game thats so good, the less than ordinary voice-acting is sure to stick out a bit.The dialogues felt more like comic relief in an otherwise intense experience, thats all.

"The accumulated filth of all their sex and murders will foam up about their waist and all the whores and politicians will look up and shout "Save us!"...

 ....and I'll look down and whisper  "no."

Super Mario Bros. 3...except for the Game Boy Advance version added unnecessary things that in my opinion, made the game less fun.

Ocarina of Time...except for the poorly thought-out combat system. They perfected it in The Windwaker though.

Mario Kart wii is a classic except for the...BIKES!!!!

I always look for a woman who has a tattoo. I see a woman with a tattoo, and I’m thinking, okay, here’s a gal who’s capable of making a decision she’ll regret in the future.

Final Fantasy Tactics Advance was an absolute classic...except for the horrible story that's a shame to the FF name.
Silent Hill is a classic...except for the fact that it has voice-acting. Horrible voice-acting
Prince of Persia Warrior With is a classic...except for having one of the most annoying protagonists ever
Suikoden IV is a classic...except for being half as long as his predecessor and featuring a very stripped down battle system

Assasin's Creed is amazing except for some repetitiveness. If they mixed it up a bit more, it could've been AAA.

@disolitude

Good thing 99% of the people that played MGS4 completely disagree with your opinion, that other 1% being you and squillium ofcourse.
