Forums - Nintendo - My Wii died!

It made a loud grinding noise last night and now it won't read any disks.

Since I got it at launch it's past warrenty so I'll have to pay for repairs.

No there's no point to this thread.  I'm just sad and need your sympathy (pathetic I know)

Edit: Yes, I have tried calling Nintendo.  $84.75 for repairs since it's beyond warrenty.

I feel for you dude. Never had a console go out on me, but my PC did...

Too bad for you. :(

Well, you have mine. Sorry Gamerace. See if you can sweet-talk a Nintendo rep into doing the repairs for free (it's possible, although rare). In any case, hope everything works out for you!

Call up Nintendo ask them if they can help, sometimes you'll be surprised, they'll fix some issues for no charge. I had my Wii do a weird noise once but it soon stopped and haven't heard it since.

I bet that the will repair the system for free.

The Nintendo Customer Service is top notch.

Did you buy it with a credit card? most credit card companies will double any manufacturer warranty on electronics.

If you drop a PS3 right on top of a Wii, it would definitely defeat it. Not so sure about the Xbox360. - mancandy

Could be something simple worth checking around to try and get it fixed.

Just give Nintendo a call. You never know, they may fix it for free.

it played lots of aaa games and it never talked back.
in times of need it was a welcome handshake, in times of despair, a strong shoulder, in times of excitement, a deadly projectile.
