If Infinite Undiscovery sold 70k on the first day, then Tales of Vesperia should have sold 200k on the first day. IU is probably one of the most unpolished, most poorly designed JRPGs I've ever played. I really hope IU is not a precursor to SO4 or Last Remnant.

Anyways, I really hope the Japanese starts accepting the 360 as a viable console. It's really for the good of the japanese videogame industry that the 360 constantly outsells the PS3 in Japan. But I'm afraid, 10k per week sales isn't enough for other 1st parties (PS3) to devote alot of resources to cater to the Japanese Core audience. Right now, Sony and just about every 3rd party is leaving Japanese gaming behind, and Microsoft is picking up all the slack so I think they should be rewarded much more for it.

You have it backwards. That's not the buyer that has to adapt to the game maker, that's the game maker who has to find its audience.

It's amazing because it's working exactly how I predicted for now: those japanese devs that hoped to develop mainly for western markets, forgetting their homeland, are being crushed.

They hoped for their games to be saved by the western markets, but what we see is that the games are doing even worse in western markets.

Seems like even Capcom is going to do sth really stupid.

When those games actually do target the Western market, they do really well(Lost Planet, Dead Rising)

The Xbox 360 is proving time and time again that it is a viable platform for JRPG's.

Sony better hope White Knight Chronicles kicks ass, or that they have doled out a huge check, otherwise FFXIII and Versus will find their way to the Xbox 360 in ALL regions.

Dead Rising already found the way on Wii, so who cares. FFXIII and FFXIIIv will be superior on PS3. =)

What in the world does Dead Rising have to do with JRPG's? looool

Not to mention it's not even really the same game as the 360 version...

A for effort I guess????

You got the point, FFXIII on x360 won`t be the same game as the PS3 version... =)

You're correct.  Given both versions are being ported from a PC build, it is safe to assume the Xbox 360 version will look and run better due to the console's similarity to the PC format.

that's an irrevelent point to bring up. The tools and kits are being run on the PC just like every other game ever created, developers use computers to develop. It is clear however, that the 360 version will be the port.

The 360 version is last on SquareEnix's list.

All those rpgs 360 have and the only one that sold quite well is Lost oddesey don u think Square enix is wondering about if those games would sell more on ps3.

Star Ocean 4 and The Last Remnant will sell pretty well(atleast the former anyway).  The 360 is stealing the JRPG fanbase from the Playstation brand.  Unless WKC outsells the 360 JRPGs, it's official that the 360 is the system for JRPGs.

IU was lawler sucky, nothing to get hyped over.

Now ToV, that is a beast!

I agree. It's dissapointing sales don't always favor quality.

I don't need your console war.
It feeds the rich while it buries the poor.
You're power hungry, spinnin' stories, and bein' graphics whores.

NO NO, NO NO NO.

Nice for IU. I wasn't surprised unlike some with sales though. It's a new tri-Ace game exclusive to the 360...what do you expect? Some of these low predictions were...pathetic.

Also, lol at CrazzyMan's less disc space = shorter game. Well OK, Heavenly Sword is 5 hours with many GB space on it, but a game like FF VIII on the PS1 has like 4 discs that don't hold nearly as much as blu ray discs but that game is 30+ hours (main stories only I'm talking about). A for effort though. =))

Tri-Ace are quite famous with the core gaming community in Japan.  Imagine, if IU could do 70K in one day, who knows how many copies SO4 will sell(both one day and lifetime).  CladueLv50=pwned for having low expectations for IU' sales.  Not all of Tri-Ace's game were smash hits but at the same time, none of them were bombs(I am talking about in terms of sales, of course).  IU is clearly no exception.

@Soriku, so with MORE discs (4 discs IU) game would be definitely shorter(then 2 discs)? LOL.

I used a kinda bad example, but what I mean is more space doesn't always mean a longer game. FF VIII was 2 something GB but that's much longer than a game like Heavenly Sword where they used 10 GB on audio alone and who knows how much else for everything else.

Crazzypwned!!
