Forums - Nintendo - DKII needs Nintendo Channel users

@TWRoO: That's fine with me.

@Teo: I'm currently not able to send PM:s, but how does it sound what TWRoO suggested?

Ei Kiinasti.

Eikä Japanisti.

Vaan pannaan jalalla koreasti.

Nintendo games sell only on Nintendo system.

I can do this one :-Sweden+Norway+Finland+Denmark+Portugal+Greece, but if that doesn't work, I can do another region.

When should I do it, and who should I give the data to though.

Also, exactly which numbers?

That is VGChartz LONGEST review. And it's NOT Cute Kitten DS

Fine with me as well.

Three people offering the same region

@Oyv. Spain is the next largest region left... and they don't seem to bother much with VC or Wiiware (seems the most casual of all the regions)

To do a different region, you have to go into the Wii settings, and change the "country" (not language) then you have to reset the Connect24 service.

Hmm I checked, but just a couple of games have visable data for me

Okay, so you want me to take Spain?

What numbers do you want me to give, and to whom?

If your Wii is set to luxembourg you should see the data for all of Benelux.

There should be 9 virtual console games with info:

-Donkey Kong Country
-LoZ: ALttP
-LoZ: OoT
-MK64
-Paper Mario
-SM64
-SMB
-SMB3
-SMWorld

plus for WiiWare FFCC should also have data.

however if you have the time the full Wii games would be nice... most of those should have data, though some obviously don't because they are not released yet (star wars) and some don't have any because they haven't been played enough yet (DK jet race/Pangya)

@ Oyv. If you are ok to do Spain... I can explain via PM what you should do, I will get organised and send out information on what to do (as well as a spreadsheet file to add the data to) this weekend.

Basically on each games page... near the bottom it gives "total sessions" and "sessions per person"... those need copying into a spreadsheet and sending to me.

OK, I just had a quick look at the statistics for Scandinavia-Portugal-Greece. There's 43 retail games, a couple of which have not been released yet. Virtual Console has 230 games, most of which have no usage info. There's also 17 Wiiware games and 9 Wii channels. Do we know how many of the 230 VC games have usage stats available? If we have to check each time, that's a lengthy task by itself.

I haven't checked through the full list for each region... but I have done so for UK, and Germany.

The Mii channel enables us to get a picture of how many total users there are per region... for the UK it is now over 230,000. For Scandanavia/etc it is only 35,000.

For a game to be given data it needs to have been played for over 10,000 hours by that userbase... so it would be very odd for a game to be included in the Scandanavian data when it is not shown in the UK channel... thus by me checking the UK channel I can see when new games are added and inform you all to add them to the list (which you would need to do for that week) but you wouldn't need to check them every week... I will be able to warn you when new games are likely to have new info added so you can check those specific games.

---

For instance I can tell you now there is no point checking the Wii disc game "Pool Party" (a snooker/pool game) pretty much ever, because it's not likely to get 10,000 hours played even in the UK where snooker is popular. Wheras I would be asking you to check Endless Ocean, Harvest Moon and others in case they have been added.

Or on Wiiware I can tell you to check Dr.Mario, Lost Winds, Pokemon and TV Show King every week because it will be one of those that shows up next.

It would be a nightmare checking the whole set of VC every week, but the list of games I give you will be only 31 titles (the current for UK) and by common sense I can tell you you wouldn't need to check the streetfighter games until Super Mario Bros 2 appears.

So for Scandanavia the job would be:
13 VC titles to get data from... plus checking maybe ~5 suspect titles to see if they have been added yet.
1 Wiiware title... plus checking 4 titles
22 Wii games... plus checking ~5 suspects
getting the Mii channel data is also a neccesity, other channels would be nice though (although photo channel never has data)

^ I will take a look tomorrow morning
