Forums - Sony - If Sony leave the gaming market

I'd stick to PC and Nintendo. Reason being cuz I'd bet my last dollar on that the 720's (or w/e they call it) games will be available for PC and run better. That with the fact that I wont have to pay for online play (I highly doubt MS will change this strategy for their next console, it's done them well so far) and practically play all the games that they have, its really a no brainer. As for nintendo, I just like their franchises and as long as they don't go even more casual and give me good games, then I'll get one.

I'd pick a Nintendo console because MS is to kiddy.

Lol someone noticed his misspelling. OR was it sarcasm?...

"Like you know"

I would try and get alot the ps1-ps3 games i've yet to play. I've always planned to get the other consoles but for cheap (so not for a couple years) but not to do any serious gaming on. Wii will just be added to my collection and never opened and i'll probably play about 5 games on 360. After that i'd wait for someone new to enter the race. See what happens. If that doesn't happen or happen to my liking then i'll just move on from gaming.

If Sony left the gaming market, I would hope that Microsoft would entertain the needs of the hardcore. I would imagine that Xbox sales would go through the root. Eventually though, Microsoft would just copy Nintendo enough that people would notice and just buy Nintendo consoles. As most 360 games are ported to the PC at some point and actually run better on the PC, I only see PC gaming and Nintendo consoles being more viable. Maybe some other company will start making consoles. Maybe if Apple gets enough 3rd party support, they could compete.

Pixel Art can be fun.

What was it that a Sony Rep said a while back "We lead we don’t follow" that’s not being stubborn + loosing the shitloads of money that they have already lost and continue to lose. Even when they sell a console they lose money.

Set records…… I guess if you count how fast the company lost the money that the PS1 and PS2 made then yes. They are record setters.

Spin alert. The PS1 money Sony earned is untouched.

I have all 3 systems and to tell you the true I play the Wii the most. Granted I only have the F1 racing game that came with the PS3 and only a hand full of games for the 360 - Halo 3 etc.. I do not own GTA4 on either console atm. I have rented this and was not impressed, great game just wasn’t all WOW!!

So to say if Sony ever did leave the console market (which I doubt because they are too stubborn) I would have to stick with Ninty. They make some of the best games and they keep me coming back for more. (IMO)

wtf ????making money and setting records in gaming make SONY stubborn ?????

And losing all the money in one shot! :P

Sony is not stubborn....Microsoft is.

Anyways I really wouldn't care, I own all three consoles.

wow ! PS3 is almost 2 years old,i bet the system will be profitable after 2009....and also,it lost all the money that was made by the PS2,so what ???they sold 240 million units with their 2 first consoles

and their third is a success, which is better than having a console and handheld on the market that was labeled a failure (you know what i'm talking about)

If I couldn't get both consoles then Nintendo.

or I'd stop playing console games alltogether.

If ps3 never came out, I would have gotten a wii.

Why?

USED to be a nintendo freak.

I have a Nes, Snes, Mega, Saturn, N64, GameBoyA, NGC, NDS, Wii and a 360.. What's "Sony"?

If Sony leaves the market then they'll take a bucket load of killer IP's with them , but i'd proly just jump on to the 360 bandwagon instead.
