India getting one-two Nintendo punch in September

Do we have any GoNintendo readers from India, or that are currently living in India? My guess would be no, considering Nintendo’s lack of support in the area. Nintendo hasn’t released the Wii or DS in India…but that will soon change. Come September 30th, both platforms will finally be released in India. That’s quite a spectacular gaming launch, if you ask me. A portable and console in one day? Hopefully, this marks the beginning of great support for the country.

nice...it depends on India though..I think it could sell great there...but I'm not sure..do people have the need and the money for those?

if they do..it will give nintendo a shitload of money..Indai is huge..

Nintendo have planned the chinese release for this year too. It's going to be busy.

Anyway, India is pretty poor country, so it's interesting to see how will they sell. I'd bet the DS would be a better seller due to its price.

Modding is huge there and since the Wii is easy enough to mod HW sales could be alright but SW sales and attach ratios won't be.

It's funny to see the pirated games sold there. I laugh everytime I think of the "X-BOSS" and "XGAME" games.

Its true that modding is big here, but due to the world-wide shortages, the Wii costs about twice as much as an X360 in the black-market, so it will be great if it is officially launched at the right price(i.e 250x45 INR).

Hopefully they can obtain decent sales in the market. I hear PS3 is doing pretty well in the market and I'd assume the same for 360. Hopefully Wii and DS can make a splash. Still waiting for Wii to release in China later this year as well.
