Forums - Nintendo Discussion - The OFFICIAL E3 2007 Nintendo Press Conference Thread

Is Mario Galaxy going to have multiplayer? Not in the normal sense but will your friends be able to act as support characters by playing as the stars? They never stated it explicitly in the conference, but when the family who got to play the games in advance were on, the lady said she loved to play with her husband and find the diamonds for him and stuff.

And then, watching the mario galaxy trailer, at the end it looked like it as the player's star was pointing in one place, and then another star seemed to be attacking the monster on hand. What do you guys think?

Yeah, they've mentioned co-op in some form a few times. It's not going to be Luigi running around with you or anything...but it gives the person next to you on the couch a great way to get involved.

Bet with disolitude: Left4Dead will have a higher Metacritic rating than Project Origin, 3 months after the second game's release.  (hasn't been 3 months but it looks like I won :-p )

It looked like the person gets to play as a star which can help you fight and find items. For me, it's brilliant as my sister loves playing games, but mostly because she wants to play what we're playing. Giving her the chance to help, but not have a lot of obligation would work perfectly.

Frankly, I think this is the approach Nintendo needs to take more of with casual play. Make games for the hardcore players but offer a method in which the casuals can join in.

I'm officially excited for Mario again.

Yeah no online for Smash is a big disappointment. Online for Mario Kart doesn't quite cover that disappointment, but it's nice to have.

I love that Fire Emblem got a date to the states but what happend to PAL?

Anyway I must say that their is a lot of game for the "faithful" coming out even if some people try to spin this to that only non-games is coming. I am reading about one here (that I want) which is WiiFit. So I don't see the point.
