Interesting idea Nintendo is using this generation- court the casual gamer to expand the market. Since Nintendo will sell more Wiis than Super NES systems by April/May, this guarantees they will release a second shrunken version. Look at the NES and SNES- they both had smaller versions released at the end of their lifetimes, while the N64 and GC didn't. They could shrink it and add a DVD player, as many fans seemed to have wanted that in the past.
Who knows what they will do, but I know this, the price of that thing isn't dropping any time soon! Now, Microsoft is conceeding first place to Nintendo, and saying they will end this generation in 2nd place like they did last generation- uhh, that's going to be tough, because Sony likes keeping their systems alive a REALLY long time, and I think Sony wants like 300 billion PS3s sold, so they'll probably keep it alive until 2055! Maybe not, but you get the idea!
30-someting now, 40-something next decade!
