Forums - Nintendo - Wii...

Interesting idea Nintendo is using this generation- court the casual gamer to expand the market. Since Nintendo will sell more Wiis than Super NES systems by April/May, this guarantees they will release a second shrunken version. Look at the NES and SNES- they both had smaller versions released at the end of their lifetimes, while the N64 and GC didn't. They could shrink it and add a DVD player, as many fans seemed to have wanted that in the past.

Who knows what they will do, but I know this, the price of that thing isn't dropping any time soon! Now, Microsoft is conceeding first place to Nintendo, and saying they will end this generation in 2nd place like they did last generation- uhh, that's going to be tough, because Sony likes keeping their systems alive a REALLY long time, and I think Sony wants like 300 billion PS3s sold, so they'll probably keep it alive until 2055! Maybe not, but you get the idea!

You know what...you may be on to something...

The last console that had different versions of it was the Super NES. I wouldn't be surprised of Nintendo released a different version of the Wii. Hell, Sony did it with the PS1 and PS2.

Smaller NES....I must have missed that one. Would be a good pic to see.

That doesn't guarentee anything. It may happen, it may not. I don't see a smaller redesign of the Wii, it's already the smallest Nintendo console they have ever manufactured.

How can the WIi get smaller? That this is puny. But it would be cool if they did that and added some new feature to it.

I think a redesign toward a smaller Wii sometime in the future is unnecessary and would be a mistake. Of all of the complaints I've heard and read about the Wii, size has never been mentioned.

you can't make the wii much slimmer than it already is! lol

but i think thats what sony has to do with the PS3. what does it weigh, like 15 pounds.

I saw one of those for the first time in a used game store just last week. At first, I couldn't figure out where the cart was supposed to go.

If the Wii were to get redesigned, I would at least expect the following:

- More internal flash memory
- DVD capabilities
