arrived here today, it's 3am now and I'm going to sleep so I'll install it tomorrow.
unfortunately, we don't get the National Geographic DVD but that's ok, we get the making of, the art book and the poster.

I can't wait, but I can wait! and I've got the whole id pack to play as well, and Dreamfall and The Longest Journey AND Killer 7. that's a lot of games.. I don't know what I'd do if I owned the 3 consoles + a PC.

Honestly my laptop can run it and it is a 5 year old POS.

 

My laptops graphics card got fried last week so I'm stuck with a so-so computer that doesn't really meet the minimum and a laptop that is nowhere near. So yeah, I'm serious.

My PC is downstairs so I don't feel like going to see what exactly is in it, but here's the laptop I'm using:

HP Intel PEtium M processor 1.6GHz
480MB of Ram
Some crummy integrated graphics car

So yeah, I know the laptop can't run it.  My PC is better but still pretty sure it won't run it too.

I might buy it but probably not opening day. Tomorrow the open beta of Warhammer online continues and to be honest I don't know when I'd find the time to play spore given how unbelievably awesome Warhammer is (yes even in the late beta). I might get it next month or so since I am quite stoked that they made it for mac (my native platform) and I want to support continued mac game development. I HATE booting over to Vista to play games, its like going from listening to the Chicago Symphony Orchestra to listening to the middle school orchestra. The look is generally the same, but the quality is light years different.

Also all Mac games use Open GL which I love, just like the PS3 and Wii do while many windows games are stuck with the underperforming Direct X crap.
