The new 80GB PS3 uses less energy than the 40GB. Something about the machine has changed, we just don't know what it is yet.

Yes I think it comes with the 65nm cell and 65nm RSX. I can't believe no one has cracked it open yet though!? Maybe I'll go buy one with cash, crack it open, close it, and return it to Walmart .

I think so aswell. Unless there is something else they could have changed in there to cause the change.

What do you mean so what? If you had just paid out a lot of money for a brand spanking new PS3, are you telling me the first thing you would do is open it, thus voiding the warranty and screwing you up royally if your PS3 ever has an isue?
