Forums - Nintendo - are titles like Madworld and The Conduit going to actually sell?

madworld would appeal to anyone male/above 10 yrs of age i think SEGA have got a good title here

Doubt is not a pleasant condition, but certainty is absurd.

5 THINGS I'd like to see before i knock out:

a. a AAA 3D sonic title

b. a nintendo developed game that has a "M rating"

c. redesgined PS controller

d. SEGA back in the console business

e. M$ out of the OS business

I'm not really convinced Wii is a good platform for a title like Madworld (I mean in terms of the major demographic who seem to have purchased it not the console technically).

I don't think its too harsh to take the view that any action title, particularly a mature rated one, is statistically more likely to sell well on the 360 and/or PS3. It's just the way the demographics seem to lie for the consoles right now.

So, I hope they get to at least 500 K but each could easily go the way of No More Heroes I feel.  Hopefully I'm wrong, particularly for the Conduit which you would hope has the right marketing, etc. to ensure a solid 1M in sales.

Try to be reasonable... its easier than you think...

Sales of NMH were bad? Since when? Grasshopper seems to think they were great! The game is their best selling game. So how was it a failure?

Prepare for termination! It is the only logical thing to do, for I am only loyal to Megatron.

This has been on my mind for a while now.

In the beginning of this year, a great Wii game by the name of No More Heroes came out. It was awesome, but its sales were pretty crappy

Because NMH was not awesome. It was mediocre. The sandbox-city was a joke and embarrassing. The game concept was great, but the technical conversion was a shame.

just as rol said....

plus madworld seems like a game that should be on the Xbox rather than a nintendo console in my eyes... too gory.

disaster should sale relatively well I dunno what budget it had but it's a game whose name i've seen poping out for a while now, so although it isn't much hyped, I guess it's existence is relatively well known.

Madworld...not sure, I'm positive it won't be huge, but if it's lucky it might crawl to a million, however I expect it to end around 500k

The Conduit will be like a mini version of CoD4, perhaps a debut of 300-400k (world combined) with decent weekly sales to bring it past 1 million, maybe 1.5 million.

As long as they both make a profit it shouldn't matter how much they sell. The Conduit should sell the most though.

Generation 8 Predictions so far.....(as of 9/2013)

Console that will sell most: Nintendo Wii U

Who will sell more consoles between Microsoft/SONY: SONY

Ok what is the lowest rated Wii Nintendo fp or 2p title thus far? Im confident that Nintendo won't fuck up Disaster.

Sales well i dk, depends if theres an adventure or action shooting focus with the marketing. It has the bridge capability that MW and Con. won't have if marketed correctly.

“When we make some new announcement and if there is no positive initial reaction from the market, I try to think of it as a good sign because that can be interpreted as people reacting to something groundbreaking. ...if the employees were always minding themselves to do whatever the market is requiring at any moment, and if they were always focusing on something we can sell right now for the short term, it would be very limiting. We are trying to think outside the box.” - Satoru Iwata - This is why corporate multinationals will never truly understand, or risk doing, what Nintendo does.

Mad World: I think this will see some minor advertising, and it should be able to break 500k. But then again it is a weird game and most "casual" gamers on the internet already say they think the game looks crappy because of the style.

Prediction: 400k - 600k

The Conduit: This should be a runaway succes. It does everything right it seems. There a lot of shooter fans waiting for a game like this. If it gets decent advertising (which it should), it will break a million easily, maybe even close to 2 million. Without it, things will go slower obviously.

Prediction: 800k - 1.4m

Over here in the UK NMH got quite a lot of tv advertising and sales didn't really reflect the amount of exposure it got in my opinion.

Whether this will be the case with other games I don't know. With more niche games being released I think the audience will get more of an appetite for them so they will perform better.
