Microsoft's strategy is to take a loss on consoles and make a profit on accessories and games. Nintendo won't cut it's prices. If their consoles always sell out, it would be dumb to cut the price, it would be smarter to raise the price, that's why it costs more to buy it on ebay, it's simple economics.

This kind of disproves the crap that MS underestimated demand. They had planned to drop the price with IU and put in their newer models. A forced sell out, as Sony has done with the 40 GB in America. They just stopped shipping.

I want to see what's the impact of this. Could it beat the PS3 in Japan? I guess the Wii is out of reach. But I still think it has no chance against the PS3 either.

 The PS3 isn't exactly selling like crazy in Japan. Theres more years ahead. Anything can happen.

dunno about US-JP, but I have an EU 360 and I bough my hard drive in the US (with dollar euro conversion it gave me a nice deal ^^)

it won't help them.

m$ is trying too much for a market that won't welcome them at the end the ps3 will still outsold the 360 by 4 to 1
and the wii 8+.

 

trying to get brand name?, maybe a total redesign and slim 360 but a price cut? no way.
