 True, people tend to forget how pathetically mired the PS2 was in shovelware. However, riding the success and momentum of the PS1, the PS2 had more than enough quality games and support to offset any damage the shovelware could inflict on its image. The Wii on the otherhand got the shovelware in spades right from the getgo and is now struggling to achieve an adequare quality to shovelware ratio.

Quality games take 2-4 years to develop.  Shovelware takes as little as 6 months.

Publishers didn't take Wii seriously until late 2007.  So the earliest we'd see a steady flow of quality will be late '09, many of which are probably on this list.



PC + Wii owners unite.  Our last-gen dying platforms have access to nearly every 90+ rated game this gen.  Building a PC that visually outperforms PS360 is cheap and easy.    Oct 7th 2010 predictions (made Dec 17th '08)
PC: 10^9
Wii: 10^8

I imagine there is much more to be announced frybread, but I do agree the Wii will be a late comer in regards of quality third party titles this generation.
