I've been seeing alot of comments of how GeOW2 will move alot of systems this Holiday season.  However, I would think the FPS fanbase is well saturated on the Xbox 360 from Halo 3 and the first GeOW.

I do, however, see the $199 price helping bring in more of the non-FPS fans or PS3 owners needing some jRPGs.

I don't see it as a system-seller unless they give it a massive, Halo 3-style advertising campaign. But a ton of people seem to see Resistance 2 and Killzone 2 as system-sellers, despite their 'above-average' and 'mediocre' prequels.



Could I trouble you for some maple syrup to go with the plate of roffles you just served up?

of course it wont, gears of war 1 is already on xbox 360 and it has been for almost 2 years, not to mention it recieved a 20 dollar price cut. so who will buy and xbox 360 for gears of war 2? all the gears of war fans already have an xbox 360. halo 3 was different. halo 2 was on xbox 1 and people waited until halo 3 to come out to buy an xbox 360.

I believe Halo 2 pushed some consoles.  And if anyone bought a console for one game it would be the XBox for Halo.

That commercial is a system seller, lol. I downloaded it in HD on XBL. I think it is the best trailer for a game, yet to be released. Almost everyone who bought Gears, will pick up the sequel. It might not move a lot of consoles, but it'll probably be really well reviewed and sell a ton of software. That, plus price drop, could be big for the 360 this holiday in the US, imo.

I think the OP might be underestimating the hype Gears 2 has in the US, either that, or I'm overestimating it, lol. I think Gears was pretty mainstream, and the sequel is very hyped, thus, will sell many units of software. Hardware? Who knows with the way GTAIV performed.

KZ2 and Resistance 2 will have to do me. Gears of War 2 i wish it was coming to the Ps3. All three games KZ2, R2 and Gears of War 2 will be excellent AAA games.

I don't know. Userbase expansion. Blah blah. Same reason hardware went up for Halo 1 -> Halo 2.
