No doubt the game will bomb its first week.  Its going to be a word of mouth affair.  Rock Band, Guitar Hero, and COD4 didn't do stellar in the first week.  However, once word got out.  The floodgates opened.

 

Also, we aren't trying to convince just "anyone", its Soriku.  Look at his post count, and his quality posts.  Who wouldn't want their system of choice with him.  He's a smart guy, just a little underpaid at the moment ;).

Well thats why i said IF it does. Im not saying it will bomb, or that i want the game to do it. Im just saying, lets wait before putting the game so high. Like, mario bros. level.

By the way, Worldwide, Call of duty opened with 444K (X360) 444K (Ps3) and GHIII opened with 276K (WII) 665K (X360) 119K (Ps3) 462K (Ps2)....so yeah...i think those r great numbers >.<

There is a complex rating system that will ensure good levels.  Plus I can't wait to play all those detail oriented levels from Japan.  Pure greatness.

The amount of fail is inmense, and this game need great support from the comunity in order to achieve the success

The ratings system is going to help ensure quality levels. But also, don't be surprised to see not only Media Molecule adding levels for download, but also other Sony internal studios creating their own levels and throwing 'em in the game. There's going to be all kinds of cross promotional mayhem going on with LBP. 

Also, have you ever heard of Unreal Tournament? Have you ever seen the amazing user generated content in those games? That series has practically lived off of user generated content. Half-Life is another one. 

 

 

Exactly.  The rating system will be similar to YouTube, and you can sort games by type, size, rating, user, etc.

There's a reason YouTube does so well despite the amount of crap on the site.  It's still pretty easy to find good stuff.

 The only potential rough spot is allowing people to start charging for their levels. 90% of the people suck at making levels so if the few that do want to start nickel and diming you it could hurt the community. I am really interested in seeing how that one plays out.

Nothing about the game seems to interest me. Hopefully the demo changes my mind

 Seriosly...wow I see commercials about "The Power of Blu-Ray" nearly everday. I ca't beileve you live in the U.S and you parens have never heard of Blu-Ray. I guess they probably don't pay much attention to main stream media. but If you could actually get a used 60gigs for $350, then you could just get your parents to buy it for you, sell it on e-bay for $500 and then get another one for $350  and your parents would only spend $200.

You know I still don't get how you can get a used 60gig for $350 I sometimes see people paying $1000 on e-bay for them :/
