1. Each creation can have it's own storyline. Ever wanted to make an awesome story ? heres your chance. 2. My point is simply that the wii manages with social games and so has the playstation.. the playstation made casual gaming famous with the ps1 and especially with the ps2. 3. I think the majority will play it singleplayer, but i really also think the same ones will play it in multiplayer. I doubt that most people looking to get this game simply does it to play it alone. I will say though, storylines are also a major deal for me in most cases. I really like a deep and involving storyline. 4. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NhJHAc2HQao if you look, this is platforming at its roots basically. You can make maps like this, it is why they say that only your mind limits you. Heck, you could remake super mario and make a plumber sackboy who has to jump on toads. With all the posibilities i think that it would be possible to make. 5. That is why they made it so simple.
Again, if you haven't played through resistance one. I don't care about multiplayer or part of the game. You need to have played through it to really experience it. It's really awesome. At first i thought it was boring and average. Until i had played a few hours into the campaign. Then it gets really really exciting. And it has a very cool and unique storyline :) |
Yeah, that video wasn't much. As I said, i'll go to Gamestop when I pick up my PS3 and try out a demo of it when it comes out.

The RPGs I play have the typical save the world thing...but the stories are pretty different. They're reallly good so I don't complain. Plus I don't level grind that much. Also, I don't play any games with friends =/ So...single player games for me. |
I agree with Soriku here. I think the point he is trying to make, is the games he enjoys are about the characters, and not the cookie cutter stories.
When you create the content of a game yourself, it's fantastic, and a dream. However, there are certain drawbacks to these types of games, and those drawbacks are what Soriku and I, enjoy.
Characters, and narrative, of course don't exist any more than they do in Mario Kart. Other people are required to enjoy the game fully, like Mario Kart. If Soriku hates Mario Kart, Brawl, and all games like it, then it would be a fair assumption that he might not like this game. Now, I like Mario Kart, and I would like to play this game, but it's such an experiment if I would like it or not, I couldn't justify buying for full price. A rental, or a 30 dollar purchase, I could see, for myself. I think this game could hold my attention just long enough as a rental, and I don't think I'd be coming back to it unless I ran out of other games, more tailored to my tastes.
I don't need your console war.
It feeds the rich while it buries the poor.
You're power hungry, spinnin' stories, and bein' graphics whores.
I don't need your console war.
NO NO, NO NO NO.
I have a little bit of a problem with people relating this to YouTube.
1. It isn't free. I'm not talking about user generated content. I mean the game itself. YouTube would have been crippled if they tried to charge a membership fee of any kind, let alone $60 - $460.
2. Not anyone can do it. You may say that this is not true, but from the link in the OP, it took a couple of people an hour to create a rocket car that came apart unintentionally. I think the creation sounds awesome, but I also like to mess around in code to make simple games. Many people will get frustrated by creation.
"... but you don't have to create anything to have fun!"
Then why buy LBP? Explain the legs of the game without this feature.

The youtube thing is yet to be seen, however, the creative aspects if any indiciation from the mario vids seen on youtube, should be outstanding.
Console Agnostic since 2001.
The concept of this game to me when it comes down to the depth is souless. If anyone can understand what that means. The creation concept seems awesome, but right down to the heart of it even if it has levels it'll be really sad. 1 person cannot pick it up and have the most fun out of it like one could with Super Mario, or Sonic or Crash Bandicoot.

Go back to the other LBP thread and read up smart one. I'm no longer compelled to even look in the direction of this game when there are much better PS3 titles to feast my eyes upon. At one time I wanted to try the game out for myself while questioning the game, but I finally saw the level creation and it was completely retarded watching it all play out. I was especially nausiated when people played it. This is more creative than Spore?
itll be interesting to see how it does compared to mario kart

Are you talking about sales?..If you are referring to that, i'd love to see LBP sell 7.14 M myself.
