500,000-1,000,000 First week

I'll give it a solid million.

We all know Sony is going to be promoting this game big time just like MGS4 and LittleBigPlanet. It will be the best looking game on the console market when it releases so that will likely give it a big push as well. However, Japan isn't a factor for this game like with MGS4, so I don't think it will reach it's numbers. In the end, it will come down to the reviews. If they're 89+ then it will sell a million.

750k to a million first week is my guess.

Anybody who seriously thinks this game will sell 1.5 million in its first week is obviously a bit silly.

That would give it the 3rd best opening for a PS3 game yet.

My first thought based on the figures of Call of Duty 4 444k, and Devil May Cry 4 519k which came out on about 1/3 the userbase this game will come out on, is that this game will at least hit 500k. Then I look at the numbers of Haze which sold 180k units week one, in what is generally a slow time for sales, and that was a FPS, but it had no hype going into launch. Now i figure Sony is not going to let this game out unless it can get a score over 90 on metacritic, and they will be marketing this thing like crazy.

So my week one prediction for this game is: USA 540k Others 720k Japan 80k Worldwide 1.340M

1.3 million on day one, and 1.7 million after week one

1.3 million first week, 4 million lifetime (we'll see a lot of Xbox converters after Gears 2 is finished.)

This is the most hyped game of this generation, and is by far the best looking game of this generation.

"It's a shooter" is a point AGAINST the game? LOL what the hell? Think Gears, Halo, COD4. Thats might be the dumbest thing I've heard in awhile.

This game will be released on an install base of over 22,000,000 at the time, so basically the same install base the 360 has right now. Saying this game will sell 400,000 week one? Haha come on.

This will sell better than both Resistance games, and will probably only be beaten out by MGS4 and LBP in total PS3 exclusive sales.

haha so this is going to sell nearly as many as halo 2&3 i dont think so. this game will be big but its not that big (killzone 1 wasnt that big)

the reasoning is because it will sell next to nothing in Europe and Japan. All sales will be from America.
