Twilight Princess is the least interesting game in the series so far by quite a long shot in my opinion. It just lacked personality.

Spoilers?
Very strange I really enjoyed it. The ball and chain weapon was beast. The new moves were beast. The design of the Zora armor was awesome. The fishing game was awesome. The snow boarding portion was cool. Midna was cool. The atmosphere was well done. The ending was great. My only real complaint was a bit of tedium.
Obviously TWW had more character. MM was more fun. OOT was more streamlined. But those games didn't make Twilight Princess less good. I think the hype was too high.
I find it strange that there is a significant group of Zelda fans that have these negative feelings towards TP.

I've played through it about three times. It's probably my third favorite Zelda game. I loved it. That's just my opinion. Of course, it's the only one that matters to me, so I admit, I didn't read past the OP, lol.
I don't need your console war.
It feeds the rich while it buries the poor.
You're power hungry, spinnin' stories, and bein' graphics whores.
I don't need your console war.
NO NO, NO NO NO.
Guess nobody is perfect.
If it isn't turnbased it isn't worth playing

For Thee, my Lord, for Thee. Power hath descended forth from Thy hand, That our feet may swiftly carry out Thy command. So we shall flow a river forth to Thee And teeming with souls shall it ever be. In Nomine Patris, et Filii, et Spiritūs Sancti. -----The Boondock Saints
I think too many people are playing Ocarina of Time through Rose Tinted Time Glasses.

I loved TP. I played through it 3 times. Its on par with OOT for me.
I honestly do not know if this has been said yet..
I swear... This is a long thread...
Anyway, I do not understand how you can sit on a controller and have a data be accidentally be erased.
First you said you finally reached Temple of Time and sometime later you had fallen asleep
Second, in order for you to erase a game you would need to be in data management screen...
Somewhere along the line when you reached Temple of Time and before you woke up... you somehow exited the game and went to data management screen and you woke up, sat on the controller and erased the game???
That is a lot of series of steps, buddy...
Third, how could you somehow have deleted a file when you needed the IR to point to "Yes" and then confirm it - also needing the IR pointer
I honestly fail to see how two series of needing the IR pointer could have accidentally hit Yes and Confirm
That is almost as unlikely as Lightning hitting the same spot twice
Not to mention, of all the games or data you have saved on you Wii, of all of them you somehow managed to accidentally point at Zelda
Finally, if you were to sit on something... I don't know... wouldn't the Wii be pointed down???
I don't know... I try to analyze this but it is damn near scientifically unlikely to happen
Anyway,
I do want to say this
I do agree w/ you about TP not challenging or as 'epic' as the other Zelda games
I do love OoT, but I would have to choose Link to the Past because that is when I first discovered this game.
Ever since then I just loved the franchise
I don't know... maybe TP was not thought out well; probably because Wii was in development and Nintendo decided to also port this to Wii (last minute, it seems)
Hope you don't lose you faith in the Zelda franchise, though
Ooh, necro'd.
I feel almost the same way as the OP. I feel no need to complete the quest. I just got the Master Sword, and completed the dungeon with all the sand, and the gears with that stupid too, and I've just stopped playing the game. I CBF to go and finish it.
