WATA F?! lol  it will never happen.

Nintendo?  No. Nintendo has been doing well enough that they won't have to reduce prices.....heck the wii is flying off the shelves left and right so I cant see the nintendo people lowering prices when they cant even keep up with demand.

 Microsoft?  Possibly.  They just fixed, or went a long way towards fixing their biggest problem, the reliability issue.  With this issue not draining their $$$ like it has been, they may see the value of cutting the purchase price.

Totally no way in hell Nintendo reacts to this, but Microsoft will but will it be right now?

I think they will wait till Fall for the 360 cut. I mean they just released the Elite at 480$, they're gonna cut that price after like 2 months? Don't see that happening...

Nintendo - Has no reason to react since the PS3 is still in a different price range than their system and the Wii is still selling out so they have no reason to cut the Wii's price.

Microsoft - I would have said yes if asked this same question yesterday but since they made their announcement of a 3 year warranty and the fact that it'll cost them between $1 billion - $1.15 billion I'm not so sure they will have a price cut this year.

yea im not so sure Ms will either since they are losing so much money fixing 360's nowadays...

I think overall it's a good thing for Sony to make the price cut now. I mean you can say that they'll lose more money per system this way but it's more important to increase the userbase now and bite the bullet.

Basically Sony is doing what MS did last generation lol. It's the right thing to do at this point.

if it never happens-wouldn't that be bad news for Sony? What is that price point where consoles starting appealing to the mass?

And I think you should always look at your predictions before determining what can and can't happen.

I am absolutely STOKED for the July NPD's now. I cant WAIT until mid August man. This is going to be VERY telling. I want to see if this is going to move PS3s here. And yes it has already been confirmed by a Sony employee too. Go see GAF. We are going to finally get to see the likelihood of a PS3 resurrection. This is awesome.

On one hand if we see PS3 sales soar, the haters would have to quiet down a bit. On the other hand if they dont soar we will never get the haters to shut up lol. Its going to be a riot either way when those NPD numbers hit in August. Finally some excitement after months of the same old same old numbers in every region. Cmon MS, drop yours too and lets see some life!

Total $199 is the sweet spot for consoles. They historically sell the bulk of their LTD's at that price and lower.
