Forums - Microsoft - Eden to fix Alone in the Dark 360 News

Eden Studios has said that it is working on a patch for the Xbox 360 version of Alone in the Dark to bring it into line with the heavily reworked PS3 version.

The developer was at Games Convention in Leipzig this week to show off the new PS3 version and own up to all the things we said were insanely rubbish during our Xbox 360 review.

Changes include streamlined inventory systems, more coherent integration of the irritating final section of the game with those flipping trees, and a better camera system and controls for on-foot and driving sections.

Eurogamer's Kristan Reed, who did not enjoy the 360 version, reports that it feels much better now that he's played a bit of the PS3 one.

Eden has not specified precisely which tweaks will appear in the 360 patch, or given any idea when it will come out, but if you want to build up a wish-list then head over to our just-published Alone in the Dark PS3 hands-on and get a pen out.

In its original form, Alone in the Dark was a flawed but occasionally brilliant stab at survival horror with just about enough going for it to squeeze a 7/10. Although the same couldn't be said of the hilarious Wii version.

If the PS3 version is genuinely an improvement, it will be very interesting to see how it scores relative to its older brother...

A bit late if you have already played it in my opinion.

They need to "fix" the 360 version so that it can't reproduce!

This is d21lewis telling you to help control the crap population. Have your shitty game spayed or neutered.

once they have fixed the 360 version, its confirmed that eurogamer will re-review the 360 version to bring it in line with ps3 version.

if......

on the other hand it had been the other way round eurogamer would never re-review the ps3 version to bring it in line with 360 version.

^obviously not 100% confirmed but it wouldt suprise me, this gen is the gen of fanboyism

on a more decent note i hope they do patch the 360 version, but really games should not be patched they should be released in perfect working condition............... game testers anyone?

Some of the features from Alone in the Dark had me really excited, but after seeing its poor performance, I wasn't expecting to pick it up, but if the PS3 is fixed enough, I might just.

Hey good news for me :)
I stopped playing it some time ago and now I will just wait for that patch.

Totally agree. Take Splinter Cell Conviction, it was supossed to be released 6 months ago. Lets hope the delay is for much improvement. If what they say is in it works well, it could be a good stealth game.

Dont fix a game after release put it out correct the first time

PS3, WII and 360 all great systems depends on what type of console player you are.

Currently playing Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2, Fallout 3, Halo ODST and Dragon Age Origins is next game

well i dont know where u reside but in the uk, game prices are stupid to say the least.

all if not most games should be bought from supermarkets funnily enough, full price games are never over £40

on the other hand places like woolies and whsmiths, sell every i mean every game at full whack

eg. ninja gaiden 2 = woolies price £39.99 and asda price £24.99

its a ripoff in the uk.
