your not the only one, I missed it too and I'm thinking of purchasing either the first one or the second one any time soon before Pikmin 3 releases...

OT: I think it will sell more than the first one since a lot of franchises on the wii are beating their predecessors.

Super_etecoon is right, you really should try to get hold of a copy of Pikmin 2 (it was so much more than the first iteration, which in it self was already a fun game). Seeing you're from the UK it might not be easy to still find it new and looking at Amazon.co.uk they sell used versions for over 50 pound. But if you find it at a reasonable price I advise you to pick it up.

Well, I think that if this game is marketed correctly Nintendo could go after the casual gaming crowd as well. They know that the hardcore are going to purchase it, and if they can get the attention of the casuals (who doesn't want a game with cute little flower people running around your garden?!), they would have an instant sales success.

By the way, I really loved the first two so perhaps I am biased lol.

Pikmin is a great hardcore game, marketed properly can appeal to broader public so i would give it 2 mln , and that would be a great success. All the major franchises do sell well on the Wii, and pikmin will continue that trend.

It will sell at least two million because I think it will also be picked up by casuals.

I am pretty sure it can outsell the first two games, so I can see it getting to 2 million lifetime or more.

5 million, it has some casual appeal and the Wii will have at least 4 times the sales of GC.

Don't mention Pikmin and 3 together because the thought gets me far too excited. You can't imagine how much I want this game. This will be the game of the forever. I think it will sell around 1.5 million. But if it called Wii Pikmin rather than Pikmin 3 then I say 2.5 million.
