Forums - Website Topics - Mod thread approval?

I like the 100 posts thing before posting a thread.

And more mods are needed as that early in the morning, there are no mods online.

bad idea.  that means that no topics could be posted from 1:00 am to 5:00 am pacific time due to lack of mods.

That is actually a very valid point.

And yet another reason why I should be a mod.

I wonder if anyone who said Fable 2 sucks or that Final fantasy versus XIII will never come to the 360 would be safe if you were a mod.

Terrible idea, mainly because I don't want to sort through all the thread applications.

  1. Big story gets posted on [inset big game news site here]
  2. People see that the story hasn't been posted, submites a new thread for approval
  3. A mod takes longer than 5 minutes to post the thread
  4. More people see the story hasn't been posted so more people submit
  5. A mod takes another 5 minutes
  6. repeat
  7. Mod has headache

Seconded. I shouldn't be locked out too long.

I'll look into it, but has it really been a problem? What hasn't gotten done that needed to be done instantly? From what I can tell the forums are pretty dead during that time anyway.

Yes, yes, but DKII dear man, we need something to bitch and moan about! That is our job as subjects to your rule and the way any hierarchy works!

  1. High post count does not a better user make
  2. Promotes spam (to get that post count higher)
  3. What if someone joins to legitimately ask a question?

There has been mild spamming incidents, trolling, racism, etc (the usual)

The offenders get banned in a couple hours anyway so its not really a big deal.

It would be something to consider that if the site has some potential candidates for the next modship addition and one happens to be in that uncovered region that it would be weighted into the selection process.
