Forums - Gaming - New PlayStation Eye game announced: Eyepet

This is shovelware just as much as your next amimalz game made by ubisoft, only in hd gfx. Don't try to even make a point that it's not because you will fail.

First off, Most of these options that you have were already available in games made for Nintendo platforms. These Wii or DS games are usually automatically labled as shovelware by most HD gamers. Next this game is obviously made for kids. Any game made for kids on the Wii is shovelware by said HD gamers. Ergo, this game is shovelware.

But seriously, this game has absolutely no chance of succeeding saleswise. The console for which it is being made is far too pricey to buy it for the kids, add to that the price of the game and the camera and you have a 500$ bill to pay, where for the same price you can buy a Wii with 5 games extra. Not to mention that the PS3 is a console owned almost soley by males aging from 16-35, just who exactly is supposed to buy this game?

IMO this is a fail on Sonys part.

Huh. Who would've thought that beggining anew in my real life would coincide with starting anew on vgchartz?

Any day now, the dollar will be worth less than 2 zloty......any day now.....and my life savings will be in total jepordy ;(.

HAHAHAHAHHAHA that looks fun, i could not help but smile whilst watching it, it just busses me jokes, that paper and the car. my mum would love this, i hope she dont see it.

however i am not going to be buying this shovel but if its going to expand the audience then it is fine by me, as long as me as a core gamer still gets all his games then i have no reason to moan.

All the men aging from 16-35 who happen to little kids or are closely related to little kids?

Having to buy the camera is one thing, but it is being used in other games than Eyepet, LittleBigPlanet for instance, which means that the investment will be useful in other places as well.

Except your argument falls apart when you consider A.) there's a good chance that by the time the game comes out, the system will be cheaper and B.) Some males between the ages of 16-35 who own a PS3 have children. I'm not saying this game is going to light up the Chartz, but it's not impossible.

My Top 5:

Shadow of the Colossus, Metal Gear Solid 3, Shenmue, Skies of Arcadia, Chrono Trigger

My 2 nex-gen systems: PS3 and Wii

Prediction Aug '08: We see the PSP2 released fall '09. Graphically, it's basically the same as the current system. UMD drive ditched and replaced by 4-8gb on board flash memory. Other upgrades: 2nd analog nub, touchscreen, blutooth, motion sensor. Design: Flip-style or slider. Size: Think Iphone. Cost: $199. Will be profitable on day 1.

i am expecting the ban hammer to bounce firmly off your head any time soon.

true this game is shovel. however it is really diff to nintendos, in this game you use motion sensing with your hands nintendogs you dont. in this game you can draw objects that are then put into the game, in nintendogs it is not.

this game has the same concept as nintendogs but is very very diff way of doing it. this game innovates in many ways.

the pet in this game can interact with various object in a really funny way, it made me laugh, nintendogs does not

And man, I'm so sick of the Ninty fanboys going up in arms over casual games on other systems that actually look decent. I dunno how many times I've heard stuff like, "If LittleBigPlanet" were on Wii, no one would care about the game." Stop being jealous/bitter and just recognize when a game is actually innovative. If this game were on the Wii, people would be equally as impressed.

Normally I would mercilessly ridicule a game like that on the Wii, but since its on the PS3 ...

ok but serious I never thought I would say this about a "pet" game but it looks cute. The ability to "draw" toys is so cool. And the pet looks pretty neat with the Mohawk. I am just not sure if the PS3 has the target audience for this kind of game.

The whole drawing coming to life saved this game from being... lame. I mean, I would buy this just to draw a penis and see the cat play with and it and smash it.

@ above ps3 fans

But you feel the urge to defend the game because it's for the PS3? Hell guys, most of you don't own a wii but that doesnt stop you from trashing Wii games, does it?

Someones point about people from the ag of 16 to 35 having children is retarded. First of, let's close that gap to 25-35 for people who have children, or maybe let's close it to the oplace that thoise children are old enough to actually play the game, whioch would bring the parental buyer to the age of 30 or above.

Who gives a rats ass if this game innovates what Nintendogs did? Do you actually imagine Sony pumping money into markating for this game? On the same level that Nintendo did for their game? I think not, Sony needs that money to hype up their future games still in development. This is going to end just like all those other eyetoy games....pretty bad.

And about the "stop being bitter" arguement, actually people like me don't have a reason to be bitter since it was not us that started the whole "fad" "shovelware" deal in the first place. We can recognize games on our system that fail pretty hard, but you sony fans just sometimes lack the balls to do so yourselves. Point in matter: remember Lair?
