Forums - Sony Discussion - Ninja Gaiden Sigma Is Now Out- Go Buy It!

Man, Shinobi, it is rare when a game forces you to damage your controller. No seriously, you have to hold down the R1 button the ENTIRE game and eventually, after being held down for so long, it began to get stuck under the plastic lip of the shoulder button. Now when I play certain other games with that controller, I have those SHIT SHIT SHIT moments where the R1 button is on rapid fire because it is stuck...

I did like Shinobi though, quite a bit. Fun, difficult, and it created a cool atmosphere.

We had two bags of grass, seventy-five pellets of mescaline, five sheets of high-powered blotter acid, a salt shaker half full of cocaine, a whole galaxy of multi-colored uppers, downers, screamers, laughers…Also a quart of tequila, a quart of rum, a case of beer, a pint of raw ether and two dozen amyls.  The only thing that really worried me was the ether.  There is nothing in the world more helpless and irresponsible and depraved than a man in the depths of an ether binge. –Raoul Duke

It is hard to shed anything but crocodile tears over White House speechwriter Patrick Buchanan's tragic analysis of the Nixon debacle. "It's like Sisyphus," he said. "We rolled the rock all the way up the mountain...and it rolled right back down on us...."  Neither Sisyphus nor the commander of the Light Brigade nor Pat Buchanan had the time or any real inclination to question what they were doing...a martyr, to the bitter end, to a "flawed" cause and a narrow, atavistic concept of conservative politics that has done more damage to itself and the country in less than six years than its liberal enemies could have done in two or three decades. -Hunter S. Thompson

oh man I've heard about Shinobi on PS2.

Also I have DMC 3 right here but it's the greatest hits version that was dumbed down... :(

DMC3 special edition wasn't dumbed down it merely had the level difficulty altered.

DMC          Special Edition

 N/A      =     Easy

Easy     =     Normal

Normal  =    Hard

Hard      =    Very Hard

D.M.D.    =   D.M.D.

The Special Edition technically just had an extra easy mode by virtue of how they flipped around the difficulties, it still has all the difficulty of the original, just on different levels.

Wow Tecmo has just announced Ninja Gaiden Sigma has sold 450 000 units in the world ......that must be a record for the PS3 !!Seeing as Japan sales must be around 70K this week that puts the Europe/NA sales at 380 000 units in one week !!

Sure that wasn't 450,000 shipped?

Either way, if those are the sales that's quite impressive, will be interesting to see how it affects PS3 sales as well.

Well at least now we'll have a decent frame of reference for how well it sold in contrast to how may were shipped.

Okay, and Gballzack has officially made avatar "Creepy and wrong".

Anyhow, played Sigma, only got to do first level before having to stop.

Bad: Odd charge move (Running and hitting quick attack will often do a move that charges, sometimes when you don't want that at all and are just manuvering around in combat.) Horrific choice for the use button (10 times in 1 fight I went through doors because quick attack is the same button as use door). And I was promised a hard first boss fight.

Good: Nice challenge, though with 5 ninja's on the screen, you gotta break your defences to hit one, and the other 2 will probably hit you, so combat is often rolling till you're back against a wall and facing 4 guys if you don't wanna get hit. Everything else is great. Fairly solid.

See Ya George.

At least following a comedians own jokes makes his death easier.

Game is really really good. I'm going to buy it soon. I've played a demo and game is awesome - fast paced, well balanced and descent. I didn't find it particularly difficult. Ok - Boss killed me twice before I finished him

@ Fuzzmosis the button opening the door thing is my main pet peeve about this game lol I totally agree with that, it's happened to me at times and it's worse in rooms where the enemies regenerate immediately when you leave cause you gotta fight 'em again...

But aside from that, great stuff. I stopped playing the game though because I am holding back on playing any games on the PS3 until I get an HD TV or I break down either way I've relegated myself to network games and last gen stuff for now.

Thanks to Blacksaber for the sig!
