Ok, well NPD has dropped again for last month and overall the VGC numbers were off. Not saying that either one is 100% correct but NPD is definitly more credible.

I think the numbers were like 360 was 105k over tracked and the PS3 was 50k undertracked or something like that.

Considering this has mostly happend for the whole year (360 overtracked & PS3 undertracked in America), i really do think a big adjustment is needed. I mean, i see people on forums for N4G, Gametrailers and a whole load of other sites saying that VGC cannot be taken seriously anymore and VGC is the updated version of Micheal Pachter.

I do think that the numbers need to be adjusted.

P.S - I am not hating on ioi or anyone as i understand that he puts a fair amount of time into the site and all but i am just telling it how it is, 360 overtracked, PS3 undertracked.

Maybe NPD has it wrong and VGC is right. You don't know. Don't take NPD as 100% accurate and then "decide" VGC is wrong by X amount.

Yes, NPD is far more accurate and when there is such a major difference, I would trust theirs over ours

ioi has said that NPD fudges their data to make up for errors in previous months, whereas VGC goes back and corrects the actual public data. This has accounted for e.g. an apparent drop in NPD X360 and PS3 sales during GTAIV month.

ioi is suddenly some high emperor who knows alot about NPD... he must have some "insider" I guess....

I don't know about insiders, but if ioi:s sample data, in comparision to NPD numbers, shows unexplained highs and lows, its propable that they make corrections to their data in order for the totals to match.

Now, i'm not saying that VGC would be more correct for US than NPD, but after NPD started crying about VGC, their totals have propably been better observed (as they don't give their corrected data to public, the public data must be corrected with other methods).

Gamer4eva: You should be careful when questioning ioi many people on this site are sensitive/protective. If he wants to change the numbers he will. Still better then nexgenwars.

The only console we might have to change is the 360 downward. Sony announced for the year-to-date they have sold over 1.8 million PS3's. If you take VGC's YTD for PS3 in NA and account for Canada, you'll see that ioi is on the money.
