Well, Captain Rainbow, Wario Land, Starfy 5, Fire Emblem DS,  Pokemon Platinum were announced 1 or 2 months before release.

Bets with Conegamer:

Pandora's Tower will have an opening week of less than 37k in Japan. (Won!)
Pandora's Tower will sell less than 100k lifetime in Japan.
Stakes: 1 week of avatar control for each one.

Fullfilled Prophecies

I rather wait 3-6 months for a game to come out then 3-4 years(FFXIII anyone????)

If it isn't turnbased it isn't worth playing   (mostly)

And shepherds we shall be,

For Thee, my Lord, for Thee. Power hath descended forth from Thy hand, That our feet may swiftly carry out Thy command. So we shall flow a river forth to Thee And teeming with souls shall it ever be. In Nomine Patris, et Filii, et Spiritūs Sancti. -----The Boondock Saints

Yea, Naum, but how in the hell are Nintendo games supposed to create hype, when they make the announcement so close to the actual launch date? Hyped games will always sell better, there's no denying that.

Also the game will be known beforehand by a lot more people, so customers will not walk into a store and ask themselves WTF is this game all about?

Nintendo is the only company in the world doing that...

I think 3 months is a good enough amount of time, if they release screenshots and such daily or every other day, like they did with the Smash Bros. Dojo on Nintendo.com

Leatherhat on July 6th, 2012 3pm. Vita sales:"3 mil for COD 2 mil for AC. Maybe more. "  thehusbo on July 6th, 2012 5pm. Vita sales:"5 mil for COD 2.2 mil for AC."

They said they weren't gonna announce games before they were on the final phase of developing, they said it was about 1 month before launch. Talk about killing the hype of games.

That is so stupid.

I understand not showing them too early and only showing CG (Sony), but 1 month?  That has to be the most foolish thing I've ever heard.  I guess they just started it then.  Cuz they showed MK Wii, SSBB and SMG at E3 07 (and SMG at E306) and the games didn't come out for months.

I think that maybe why they are more adamant about only announcing games that ARE on the verge of coming out I guess. *shrugs*

The Interweb is about overreaction, this is what makes it great!

...Imagine how boring the interweb would be if everyone thought logically?

yeah... me too.

I hope they're working on kid icarus, star fox, Donkey Kong, Kirby, Punch out, and of course, the new Legend of Zelda.

And also, i hope they bring the good old games to the VC [still waiting for Nemo: The dream Master (NES) and EVO: The search for Eden (SNES)] and of course, a new Super MEtroid SNES style for the WiiWare would be awesome =D

What you're saying is true, but not for Nintendo.

If "enter random developer name here" announces a game 1 month before release no one will know about it. If they announce it 1 year before people will find out about their game, create some hype, but then the hype will be dead long before the game is released.

When Blizzard or Nintendo announces a game, the hype after 1 day or after 1 year is the same, HUGE.

I still can't understand, 1 game only after October? Poor Japanese Nintendo fans. I admit Nintendo is very successful this gen and I love that. But I can't understand some recent decisions.

I WANT Nintendo to announce more games, I don't care if they announce the Japanese version only, but I want them to show concern about Nintendo fans at least a bit.
