Not necessarily. Contrary to popular belief, the President has little control over the economy. Most of that is up to the market itself and Congress. It peaks and valleys by itself and some of the difficulties America is having right now predate Bush and his craptastic policies. Bush has also made some massive changes to foreign policy. It will be decades before the real impact of those policies are seen in full.

Nice try NinjaGuyDan... oooo he was unconsciously waving the flag too close to his leg and hitting it. As if that's the worst thats ever been done to an American flag... meanwhile go to any given left-wing political rally, no matter what the subject at hand is, and you will witness people doing any or all of the following to the flag:
1. Holding it upside-down or backwards.
2. Changing it to rainbow colors with a peace sign where the stars are.
3. Swastika or Star of David drawn on it (to symbolize that America is like Nazi Germany, and/or controlled by Jewish lobbyists... figure that one out).
4. Tearing it up.
5. Stomping on it.
6. Spitting on it.
7. Burning it.
8. Urinating on it.
9. Deficating on it.
10. Ripping one out of the hands of a counter-protestor, and then proceeding to do one or more of the above to it.

You know I was always wondering why no one ever used the dollar sign for $ony, but then I realized they have no money so it would be pointless.

And this is different from any other current-day politician *how* exactly? He is comes across a total idiot in hgis speeches. He relies upon advice of his idiot advisors. Well, that is your opinion. Personally, I'd rather have a President who has more substance to him as a person, rather than someone who can only give charismatic albeit vapid and vague speeches that are full of platitudes. I would think relying on his advisors would be a good thing, because no one person is an expert in everything....and what exactly makes them "idiots"? You think Bush is an idiot, so that makes them idiots by associating with him or something? Right... USA is more hated worldwide under the reign of George W. Bush. Russia and most of the Islam world hate America primarily because of the idiotic people who lead America. No - they hate the U.S. because of its prosperity, and also because most Americans don't give a damn what other countries think of their country (including me). USA has invaded Iraq, Afghanistan and is planning on invading Iran. Blood for oil. Bush says he is fighting terrorist but he gets huge kickbacks from the oil companies by securing more oil for the USA. No wonder the Muslims hate George W. Bush. You'd better thank the U.S. congress for this "Blood for oil" as well, because they played just as much a part in starting these "invasions" as Bush did. Also, I'm so tired of this tired cliche - blood for oil - we aren't getting any oil from Iraq or Afghanistan. The Bush haters just needed a good slogan to chant, so they thought up this..The U.S. is there to try and bring some stability to the region and oust extremist groups - whether or not a war against an ideology can ever be completely won is up for debate though. George W. Bush basically declared war on the entire Muslim religion with his so called war on Terrorism starting immediately after the 9/11 event. The media networks enforce the anti-Muslim stance. You won't hear a single instance of anyone saying that we're at war against Islam. The uneasy feelings that some Americans have against muslims come from A)lack of education about the religion, and B)the fact that extremists professing to believe in that religion (though they really don't live it at all the way they should) are the ones who executed so many terrorist attacks. ^Discuss your views. |
As for saying Bush is the worst president of the last fifty years......Jimmy Carter begs to differ.

Poor Bush. At least he is funny. In a purely accidental kinda way

Though I didnt live it, my impression and understanding of Carter was that he was fairly effective with international policy.
Honestly, I think JFK was the worst president. Really. Who lets themselves get shot in the head? He really needed to play COD4 first. NOOB tactics. haha I kid, I kid ;)
@ Jackson - fair point, but I think moreso I'm talking about individual liberties vs. misuse of gov't power. Not only did Bush allow for wiretapping, but he then gave those companies immunity, on top of all his chronies, shielding them from justice. Lincoln can go different ways of perspective, depending on where you went to school. If you were raised in the south, you will be taught that Lincoln was a villain, and a history more altered than a Wikipedia on Star Wars. After all, its not the Civil War down there, but the "War of Northern Aggression"

International policy (Iran, in particular) was the death knell for Carter's Presidency.

Im not a huge fan of Bush by any means but he isn't the worst prez in 50 years. Most of the OPs points is just stuff that left wing fanatics spew around but have no proof of. As far as being hated worldwide that is by far the biggest bullshit statement ever. A lot of countries may put on a front of dislike toward the US but at the first sign of trouble (natural disaster etc etc) who is the first person they turn to for aid. The United States. We are hated b/c we are a free nation and somehow, by an act of luck or pure miracle we ended up as the most powerful nation in the world.
If ppl are so pissed off at the economy talk to the now democratic controlled congress. As said earlier the prez has very little to do with the economy and I would like to remind everyone that it was Bill Clinton's NAFTA that started this economic recession (I guess we can call it that) or at least contributed greatly toward it.
"NAFTA that started this economic recession (I guess we can call it that) or at least contributed greatly toward it."
I was unaware that NAFTA contributed to the "recession." If memory serves me correct, and it does, the US economy steadfastly improved after NAFTA was passed. The CPI increased at low levels, unemployment levels were historically low, and productivity gains were high. It seems as if the economy has done well and that NAFTA has actually contributed to economic growth.

People who have only been alive for 22 years probably shouldn't make statements that span 50. Unless you're a presidential historian then I would assume you are just talking out of your ass.
