Crash took a back seat to Resistance. Sony and insomniac are trying to win over the western fans who give them the bulk of their money. They need something better than Crash for now.

Yeh, once ND stopped working on it it got a lot worse, though Crash Bash was actually pretty good

My mistake, Insomiac helped Naughty Dog with Jak, not Crash. Crash did take a back seat however. Disreguard the insomniac comment.
Crash, one of the biggets mascots of the gaming industry is pretty much dead IMO. The first 4 games are still one of my favorites but when the IP gotr to Vivendi it got AIDS and its slowly dieing :P
Vote the Mayor for Mayor!
crash is making a comeback in october. The next game in the series is called Crash: Mind over Mutant. It will be released on the ps2, 360,wii and psp on October 7th 2008
TO GOD BE THE GLORY
With platformers becoming big again in terms of release on XBLA and PSN. Don't be surprised to see Crash return to his roots. Crash would have survived look at the success Ratchet & Clank had on the PS2. Crash games were similar in most ways.

Umnm, Sony doesn't even own the CB IP, so it isn't taking a backseat to anything. Not to mention there was a whole generation between Resistance and the last ND Crash game. Not to mention Crash was very popular across the world, so I don't see why they would need Resistance to appeal to the west.
