Forums - Nintendo - Madden 09 for Wii bombs, will EA drop the "All Play" Gimmick?

I don't understand why people buy the same game every year.

How many times are we going to have people claim a Wii game bombs based on early information only to be proven wrong down the road?

You could at least wait for reliable information before making the thread. The idea that a single store is indicative of the entire nation is pretty ridiculous.

 Trust me, I'd gladly be wrong on this one.

And while using a single store can be somewhat misleading it doesn't stop the oodles of Amazon.com threads that pop up.

What is the actual difference between the games? Is the Wii version just a dumbed down one?

@bolded,

So your response to a problem is to make it worse?  Sorry that doesn't make any sense.

I'm curious what, in your opinion, would be considerd a "bomb" for the game?

From what I understand it has all of the normal modes plus some additional game modes.  Some of the additional game modes are designed to take advantage of the motion controls and some are designed for younger audiences in a backyard football kind of way.

 I never said the Amazon.com threads were a problem, I merely just said I figured those were indicative of anecdotal evidence being common place here. ;)

In the case of Madden, I would say a bomb would be a version that sells horrifically less than the other iterations.

Also, even if one store was indicative of the whole of America, there still isn't enough data.

Though this is simply hypothetical, what if they shipped 1 copy of the 360, PSP, PS2, PS3 and DS versions and 100 of the Wii version? Then "selling out" would be relative to the number shipped, rather than indicative of a game "bombing".

I say all that to say, did you get any shipment numbers from the workers in the stores? Were they all equal?

wii games seemed to be about having legs rather than just sell huge numbers in the first week then die out.

Wii games always sell on legs and not on first week. Boom Blox says hi.
