Forums - Microsoft - Eternal sonata 360 - is it worth getting

after a long stale haul through dvd#3 of lost oddeseey i can finally have all my team back. hopefully now i can fnish the game which is actually quite good, although dvd#3 was a bit strung out especially when your party splits up into 3.

did anyone else find dvd#3 to be a bit strung out? good job i had the gamble majic

anyways after finishing lost oddeseey in thinking of getting eternal sonata next, is it a good rpg? and how long does it take to complete.

ive tried the demo it seems ok to me, a different battle system but looks good.

It is my favorite 360 game. I would get it if I were you, unless you want to wait for the PS3 version. It is pretty short for an RPG though, took me 20hrs to complete.

well although ps3 version may have a few extras you have to think for me anyways sonata is £10 so after finishing LO i may pick it up.

I would have suggested you to buy ToV, but you're living in the UK and the release is unfortunately in 2009...

Well I think those extras in the PS3 aren't that huge and worth putting so much more money on the cash desk. If you really can get ES for £10 it might be more intelligent.

I would definitely recommend picking it up. But maybe wait for the PS3 version? It'll probably have more content right?

It's one of the best RPG's I've played in a while, the only downside is that it becomes a bit melodramatic at times it really needed to stop taking it self so seriously. The voice acting is a bit of a hit and miss as well, nothing too bad, but there were certain characters I prayed had no speaking lines in cutscenes.

I say avoid buying Eternal Sonata it is a terrible game.

Eternal Sonata ->>> Lost Oddysey

Graphics are much nicer, sound is nicer, quick loading etc.

Its abit "cute" though so you might not like it, I thought it was fantastic though, really good voice work (for what it is!)

It gets a bit rubbish and wearing in the last 1\4 of the game, but so does Lost Oddysey and JRPGs in general.

I dont like that look at all .... get infinite undiscovery!! get that (from the new JPRG fanboy - kowenicki)

Definitely get IU.  Great art direction, story seems interesting(from the little we heard anyway), and the gameplay looks cool

Its my favortie 360 game also. They also made the coolest faceplates.

Honestly after playing Lost Odyssey, I would set my expectations pretty low for Eternal Sonata. The game has great art and great battle system but its just average. The story isn't that great, its short, and has only one side quest. You'll probably clock 25 to 30 hours on your first play through.
