This is hard to predit due to factors such as future price drops, unannounced games and other things.
But based on this years trend, the PS3 may outsell the 360 by late 2010 or early 2011, just intime for the 2010/2011 release of the Xbox720.

How can people say 09? So in 16 months the PS3 will have to sell 5.5million consoles? That means it will have to outsell the 360 by 343, 000 units every month. Now that is possible but MS have just recently got a price-cut and in the holidays sales are gonna explode.

Not only do they say 2009, but MID 2009!
People must think Sony still has some magic egg up its sleeve just waiting to hatch. How people think that the PS3 will sell around 500,000 units a month more then the 360 for the next 11 months, with no system sellers coming out this year, is beyond me.
