Why exactly would any gamer be AGAINST making gaming on a console more accessable and less of a hassle?

 

Because games that costs $10 in USA costs $60 in Europe. That's why Nintendo lock games to 1 region.

There seems to be more focus here on the health & safety removal than the region free channels - something that chips don't allow. This is quite the oddity.

It doesn't let you skip these, because they are on the game discs themselves. This is just a system Menu hack.

That is false Nintendo does not brick your console if you mod the console. Just means you can not play games online right? Same as a modded X360 prevents you from playing games online.

Nintendo won't brick your console. What can brick your console is incompatibility between your hack and Nintendo's updates.

Though it has nearly no chance of happening with a channel, as you're not modifying the console's OS or firmware with this software hack.

The main purpose was being region free, and it's doing a pretty good job.

 

I find it funny how the article is trying to paint the X360 as being region free (it isn't and he's obviously taking the percentage of region free games out of his ass), to allow criticising of Nintendo.

The PS3 is not completely region free. PS1 and PS2 (for compatible systems) games are still region locked.



A flashy-first game is awesome when it comes out. A great-first game is awesome forever.
