at 299$, the pro looks really nice next to a 399$ ps3. For HD gaming/video, it comes equipped with component cables also.

the 199.99 its gonna be for the ARcade version of 360 without Hard Drive, nobody wants the Arcade anymore, and beside, the 60 Gb gonna be 299.99 and the ps3 80 Gb 399.99, maybe sony gonna put the 40 Gb to 350 or maybe 300 to compete with the 60 Gb version of the 360, right now in The Americas the sales are down because everyone its waiting for the 80 Gb version.

For me, I really have to decide between:
| 360 | PS3 | |
| Console | 300 | 400 |
|
Cables |
0 | 10 |
| 2nd Controller (wired on 360) | 30 | 50 |
| Battery for 1st pad | 20 | 0 |
| Total | 350 | 460 |
I don't need official periphs, which is why I put the cheaper prices for the peripherals...
$110 dollars is 3-4 used games.
I'm gonna get both (again) sooner or later so Bluray will be soon enough. Also I like the PS3 Wifi, but the 360 will probably be in my bedroom and the PS3 will be in the living room; so I don't need the Wifi for 360.
As a gamer both are attractive.
But the $300 60 gig pro still isn't 100% confirmed and I won't make any decisions until Sept 7 passes.
I would cite regulation, but I know you will simply ignore it.
^Well said. They have no future plans for the 40gb...

All for the better. It was about to hit the point where it got really embarrising cause PS2's numbers exploded.

yes they should go up. this week just about caught the restocking of the consoles coming off from last weeks, shortages.
next week sales will be good
...not much time to post anymore, used to be awesome on here really good fond memories from VGchartz...
PSN: Skeeuk - XBL: SkeeUK - PC: Skeeuk
really miss the VGCHARTZ of 2008 - 2013...
With both GTAIV and MGS4 out of the way and the news of FF13 going multi-plat the PS3 may have lost the benefit of the doubt many in the gaming community had given it as the inevitable winner. I doubt the 360 will forever utterly devestate the PS3, but I also don't think the PS3 has any real chance of ever regaining the lead in sales it had in the first half of this year.
i can see a price drop coming, either another $100 or $50. when you ask i see this coming? well for some reason i see a suprise announcement of the price drop in october or if we dont see one this holiday season they will save it for the following. yeah yeah maybe a cliche predicition but its coming.
reason being? more 1st party software sales will make up from the price cut and they will still make money. im sure sony will not have anymore profit lose from now on. i could be wrong yes, but this is my opinion and until im proven wrong by "The numbers" im gonna stick to this :p

Considering the 80GB for $400 pretty much negates the likelihood of another price cut of any kind I think you're stretching a bit here. Sony can't afford to simply just lose the same money on a price cut this year as they did last year when things looked their worst for the PS3. Now that their sales are acceptable for the PS3's survival, whether maintaining second place or not, there's not the same desperation Sony had last year this time to save the PS3.
And no, 1st party software sales are not making up for the losses, its kind of a well know fact that the whole "software sales make up for hardware losses" doesn't apply terribly well to the HD consoles. It seems the bulk of your logic relies heavily on self assumed facts and dated principles.
@axumblade, your not that far away i could be there in one day if you really want one ill find one out there for you if the price is right
