Forums - Sales - My thoughts on why the ps3 will eventually win this gen.

Everyone is underestimating ps3's brandname. I can give you casuals who say they will upgrade to the PS3 once the price falls and there is more content aimed at them. Last year everyone said there is no chance the PS3 can outsell the 360, but for 9 months in a row 360 was last. Wait and see what happens when Sony introduces the PS3 slim priced at $299. I'm not saying that the Wii doesn't have any chances, since it does, but PS3 also has chances.

@Smeags, Dolla Dolla, 11ht11, and probably a lot more,

While I understand you completely disagree with the OP you need to do it without devolving the entire thread into a flame-fest. The OP put out an argument with his positions and obviously wanted some debate on the subject, replying with one-liners and pictures only serves to derail the thread.

Stay on topic and on point or please don't post. If you want to create another thread for joking around there is plenty of space free in off topic. Consider this a warning.

Debating/giving out ideas with intellect, doesn't need name calling or cheap shots such as those pics.

Sony fans are always in denial...what a shame. Good luck with the 10 years plan.

Last I checked Sony made the top selling console to date...

You are correct, Sony has made the top selling console to date, but not the fastest selling.  The Wii sells at a better rate than any console before.  No other console has sold as many consoles, in the first year and 9 months, as Wii has.

Are you under estimating Nintendo's brand name?  I know several people who equate that a video game system is a Nintendo.  I have a couple friends that always call their PS2 a Nintendo.

Then why wouldn't they call the PS3 a Nintendo?

I apologize for the confusion. My point wasn't to call the topic creator names or hurl cheap shots. My point was directed at the topic itself.

As everyone has stated before me, using numbers that have no factual basis (15 million PS3's sold a year) and pointing out Sony's infamous PS3 10 year plan (Consumers decide the life span of a console, not companies) just seems... somewhat ridiculous.

Looking at the actual facts, I really don't see PS3 walking away with the 95 million units sold this generation, nor the title of "best selling console".

They don't have one

PS3 has about as much chance of winning as I have of winning the Olympic 100m next weekend.

My father does that, he calls every video game system a GameBoy.

Always made me laugh...
