what's the point in that? the discussion is not about that, the discussion is how, all the games that were in the top 10 got 1'ed like 300 times, while all the ps games got 10'ed for the same amount. Now, if someone still tells it are just regular sony fanboys, then lemme tell you this, you're dumb.

 Wouldn't that support my statement?  If there were alot PS2 fans and let's say some of them vote 1s and/or 10s, the numbers are bound to change...  ugh, I don't even know why I bother.

I respect your post. Also this is not a Sony thing, there is also a thread about Zelda PH jumping to the top when it wasn't even out yet. It's not that "a" Sony game has raised to the top that no a problem. It's the fact that in 5 minutes the ten completely change from Nintendo heavy to all Sony. The other thing was that most of these games in the top ten had ratings of 6.5-7.8 now they are all 8.4 or above (in just 5 minutes). Personally it's not a big deal to me, as you can see I tried to disregard the thread after I started it.

 Yeah, I can understand if it's like that.  Personally, I haven't watched the game rankings all that close.  I sorta figured that the minimum post count barrier was hit.  (I think ioi said he placed a minimum vote count on the front page list.  I just figured that those games finally broke that barrier.)  If these have moved all that much though I still find it funny that everyone assumes it was hacked and not the ioi adjusting the algorithm and finally putting in some kind of min/max skimming.

It really could just be that. The biggest thing that made me think it was hacking was the fact that it stops at 10, numbers 11-20 are the orignal 1-10. When 10 Sony games got in the top spots, the numbers stop changing. But ioi will fix it or get rid of it, it doesn't matter cause it's suppose to be fun. So lets have fun!

Ok, that's weird. Anyway. Sorry to rant about all that. Gaming is supposed to be about the fun side of things. I guess your bound to have some people that want to fiddle with the voting system though. Everyone hates to see their choice become the least popular one. ;)

Even if ioi can't fix it, since it was pretty much Nintendo only games top ranked before, I'm sure it will eventually get back to that. I just found it ridiculous (funny?) and at the same time kind of sad that a conspiracy was the first thought.

Hmmz it seems like there is a double effect, on the one side the rating has gone upwards on some games, on the other hand games like Ocarina of Time now are at 7.84 instead of the last 8.4.

Present top 50:
1-10: Sony games
11-27: not sony games
27 and beyond: a mixture

At present the average amount of votes is around 400, what means that every single vote can lower a game 0.024 points and vica versa. So it's kinda strange that all those people came here to vote on the same 10 games. Or Sony only made just 10 nice very games. I don't have to tell you thats a bit strange.

The database could be purified by eliminating people that only post 0 or 10 scores. Or better something in the [0,2] and [8-10] range. Its highly unlikely that people would mark games as extremely bad or extremely good.

I just don't vote, it's not like this kind of behaviour is a surprise. However last week we had a Sega game in the top 10. It was nice to see such thing.
